They rebuilt my transmission in my truck and did a lot of other work on it and did not charge me for it. They told me they wanted it right for me and it is. The truck runs great and I pulled my camper to the campground. It made the trip with out any problems !!!!!! I can't say enough about them. Great work at a good price. My truck is old but I like it and want to keep it running for awhile.

Experienced and friendly. I have had them fix my vehicle twice; both times it was same issue. The service is unbeatable; my car was up and running within two days. They were clear and honest with me inregards to the issue. Highly recommend.

Brought my saturn relay in for transmission repair about a year ago and had a good experience. I just recently had to take it in again because we discovered a transmission fluid leak. The folks over at Fred's fixed the leak and even though it was out of warranty, they didn't charge me a cent! The problem was not even caused by faulty transmission repair or anything like that, the transmission pan impacted something, causing the leak.Service: Transmission

Auto park told me I was missing first and third gear, 2 other mechanic shops said wiring harness/plate or torque converter and can't get part due to back order. Call around Fred's has a few on the shelf... Drop it off and after losing a tech and almost a week later I call, "tech just got in it to diagnose it", to get a call back 20 mins later to be told " can't diagnose it due to a misfire.... Would the 3 other shops fixed that and took my money instead of saying it was my transmission!! Four hundred or so dollar fix wasn't enough money for Fred's gotta spend more than a grand I guess to get anything done....

Yeah, this place sucks. Called for a quote today and the guy on the phone was very short/rude. Couldn't give me a quote on a repair and refused to look up what the total cost of parts would be. This was at the mishawaka location

I recently had the pleasure of doing business with Fred's Transmission and Clutch and couldn't be more pleased with the level of service and professionalism I found. What a blessing to have found a local business with great service and fair pricing. they are worth every penny and I won't hesitate to return. I so much appreciate that they are locally owned and operated. I wish I could take my vehicle there for everything!

When you walk in and tell them is sounds like Rrrrrrrr they say " I understand" when you come back for 15 day check up and you say my transmission is making this sound, they say "We don't know what you're talking about " the technician in back becomes sarcastic and derisive and they move you on. The only difference is now they've got your money, so they don't try anymore. But the manager is a nice guy, oh yeah he's either getting or already gotten my money. Fred's Transmission has already closed two locations, the owner is never there. Find some place else to do your transmission

We had our 2006 Ford E350 van transmission rebuilt by Fred's in January of 2015. Van had over 340K. Now in August of 2019. Our van has over 665K & still going strong. I did have a few problems with the Bill. I was excessively charged for synthetic ATF fluid. I gave them 3 gallons of my own to use. Service mangers reluctantly gave me a refund. He was NOT very happy.

Took my car there because of a noise that i suspected was the transmission that even the dealer couldn't find. It took them a few days and a couple different guys to find it but they did. Passenger CV shaft was about ready to snap. Thank you for not giving up. Very fair price alot cheaper then I thought it would be. Thanks again. Will be a repeat customer

Ron was extremely nice and straight to the point but he also was trying get me to get other services that I know I didn't need done. They were nice and friendly.

Excellent service. Fast. Very friendly. Honest. They go the extra mile to help you go more. They give all rebuilds a 1 year/24,000 miles warranty work. Would recommend.

Very poor quality work and poor (non existent ) warranty. I'm a business owner with numerous vehicles. Decided to give Freds a try. Big mistake. The transmission failed shortly after they rebuilt it. They reluctantly "repaired" it under warranty but after getting truck back it didn't shift properly. Brought it back again and they said they couldn't figure it out. And that I should take it to a Chevy dealer? After taking to Chevy dealer they diagnosed that Freds had repaired with an incorrect part. I paid the Chevy dealer for the diagnostic work. Freds made a huge deal at that point about reimbursement of the $75. Then the transmission fails again one month out of warranty. Had the transmission re-rebuilt again by another shop @ that point and it lasted 10 plus years.
