This is the Dollar General that me and my family most often goto when we are in a pinch and need something small and quick since it's fairly close to us and when it 1st reopened a few months ago, I actually liked it better and it was clean, organized, and the employees were all friendly.
Unfortunately, now since it's under new management from what I've heard, it's a disaster. I am writing this review over an incident that just happened today. Me and my son walked into the DG for snacks and the new employee(I assume)told me that I couldn't have a backpack on, which wasn't a typical "backpack". It's a loungefly mini backpack style "handbag". I have been in this store so many times prior with this or a similar style "mini backpack" since I do not like carrying around a handbag and I've never been told that I'm not allowed to enter the store with it on.
For one, if I was to shoplift something (which I wouldn't since I am not that type of person) I think it would be a lot easier to shoplift with a handbag that it would be with a backpack that's on my back that I'd have to physically take off and unzip and put back on, etc to be able to try to steal something verses if I were using a handbag, I'd just leave it unzipped and slip whatever inside quickly without all the extra effort lol. I walked out and refused to give them my business.
It's getting ridiculous. Our country, a country that's supposed to be known as "free" is becoming a dictatorship right before our eyes. I do understand some of the measures needed to combat theft but this whole ordeal over a mini backpack style handbag that isn't in anyway like an actual backpack not being aloud is ridiculous! There are cameras and employees ffs. Do you jobs! I see why an employee that I spoke with a couple wks ago stated she was going to quit dud to the new manager. I don't blame her one bit!

Needs more workers for sure, always have stocker carts out. My hubby absolutely loves the candy selection here!

The best prices on pop that rotates through every brand. Easy to zip in and out. You don't have to worry about what you look like. To those who say they never worry, you're a lair. The staff is always friendly and helpful especially considering working at one of these stores must be the worst because of the clientele, sometimes, want more than they deserve plus thieves abound in these stores. Are they pristine? Of course not, why would they be? If you want pristine go to Martins and pay triple if not more for your products then but do me a favor, don't complain about a store that does the most for the lower end of the socioeconomic scale...Just take your highfalutin attitude somewhere else and stop reporting the stores we need.

I go to dollar general 3 times a day live down the road your manager is in car doing nothing everytime the place is packed she never helps what could she be doing there all time redic she never works really get rid of her

Dirty, cluttered. Never open. The parking lot looks like a garbage place. But yes, keep opening more but you can't get help and keep your other stores stocked. Ridiculous.
