“The store was remodeled and looked much better. I no longer live in the area and have been gone for years now. I was impressed compared to the way the store used to look. The only thing I had an issue with was the cashier. I feel she needs to work on her customer service skills. Otherwise I would still recommend this place and I will come back if I'm in the area.”
“Store had lots of options and no long wait when I was there. Some items, even at $5, didn't seem worth it, but overall, good deals to be found. Lots of unique items, as well. Staff courteous.”
“My favorite store in Hammond. Most things are reasonably inexpensive. Always very clean. Cashier are very quite. They are not very engaging and honestly most of them seem very bored. The butcher are really nice tho and always speak and willing to help find things”

“One of my favorite places,,not just favorite stores,but favorite places. They have anything and everything for way less than anywhere else. Yes, some things are more than $5 now but the prices are still cheaper than other stores for the same exact product or at least the same quality. Gadgets, toys, clothes, snacks, candy, Art supplies, beauty,,, literally everything.”

“I love this store I always manage to get something unique anytime I visit the store. I love the fact that they have unique designs, gourmet foods, cleaning supplies and beauty products. If you are trying to create the perfect atmosphere for your home, I recommend them. The furniture department is nice and the gentleman Mark that has worked there for years is OUTSTANDING! The staff works hard and they are professional! The new Manager is great! I have been a customer since they' opened that location. The only thing I suggest is that Corporate give them the support they need by hiring a service to keep it the floors shiny, and well maintained. In this area, we are particular consumers and I can tell them that is why they do not have probably the amount of business that they deserve.”

“Dollar Tree was a better experience this time. The line was getting long and there were seniors in the line. A second line was opened to move the seniors. That was the most thoughtful thing I've ever seen a Dollar Tree employee do. This is normally a semi-busy location.”
“Each dollar tree is different as far as geologically. Once u get out of the more ethnic areas the variety of things you can find is amazing! Sad to say but the hood Dollar tree is a 5 go to the white neighborhood and u definitely have an upgraded experience. Sorry to say but it's the truth. “This store deserves some recognition. Every other dollar store I go to the store is always filthy and disorganized. I come to this location all the time and they always have everything clean and stocked well and every single employee here is friendly, which also you don’t see at many dollar stores. Whatever management is doing at this location they are doing it right, keep up the awesome work.”
“Dollar tree in Schererville IN is well stocked. The building is old but clean and mostly organized. Prices are lower than other stores and the quality isn't bad. Staff is friendly.”

“I love DD's. Especially this location in Hammond IN. I love the fact that they close on any given day apparently whenever they feel like it. They're only open til like 4:30 pm every day already but sometimes they're closed before then. It's great! I also find spending money on dumpster digs to be a rewarding & invigorating experience! And please don't get me started on the employees! These ppl are absolutely awful! It's spellbinding! Hey, not as bad as Walmart across the street though. Their customer service takes the gold medal in the categories of ignorance and laziness! DD's employees can hold their heads high with the silver! Hey, at least they medaled! So if you're like me & you like buying cheap-a** garbage & getting treated like pond scum by employees then clear your calendar & take the whole day off & get your behind to DD's in Hammond! You will be pleasantly pissed off! It's worth it! Why the 4 stars you ask! Because they have a great variety of actual name brand dog bones & treats(dream bone, Hartz etc...)at can't be beat prices! Dog treats & bones are astronomically expensive now a days so just for that fact I proudly give this little hole in the wall 4 well deserved stars!!”
“Today there was an experience where a lady with kids ended up breaking a whole aisle full of glasses and the two ladies working were so good about how they handled it. The store was as clean as it could be it's an older store and the staff that was on duty today was beautiful.”

“Happened to shop here for the vitamins here aren't too expensive. The fruit and accessories are to good to come by. I likely shopped to the extent of essential items such as q tips and shampoo and razors. The use of purchasing a iTunes card at the reasonable credit also helps. Nevertheless a great store to come through and shop.”

“When I walked in the Dollar General, I was greeted with a sincere hello, and welome to Dollar General, not the robotic hello. I had to come on here to do a review. I overheard the phone ring, and a customer was asking if they had an item. She HAPPILY placed the customer on hold, and went to check to see if they had the item. Came back and informed the customer. I was looking for a particular item. She showed me where it should have been, but they were all out of stock. She was genuine and sincere while I was checking out. This is definitely rare these days. I told her to stay the way she is, and that it was appreciated.”
“So I normally go to family dollar but took a chance on dollar general and so glad I did. They have so much nice home decor items for cheap which I love. There store was nice and clean as well. This made it easy to find things I definitely will be shopping here from now on.”

“I like going to this Dollar General when I don't want to shop at the grocery store. This DG has everything, canned goods, soda, cleaning products, OTC medications, make-up, everything. Very convenient and the employees are always helpful and courteous. I know they work very hard there.”

“For the convenience and it is in our neighborhood. BUT ... they need to keep it stocked and clean. I was disappointed during a recent visit. it was cluttered. shelves were disorganized as well as refrigerated section. No shopping carts to shop with and store wasn't even full. no bags at self checkout. Poorly run. Landscaping looking beautiful though”
