Visited the Dayton Indiana store today. The employee was seating on the curb smoking while people were lined up waiting for someone to check them out. One of the customers rang a bell and the employee came back in still on the phone and waited on the now 6 people in line. Poor service and clearly not how a store should be ran.

I went in for the three day clearance sale. The ladies at this store are very nice. I love coming here. As I was checking out the cashier even gave me five dollars off my order. That made my day. Thank you Dayton dollar general!

I must say I've been a lot of places but never have I had a manager get upset because I bought a lot of clearance items. I thought that was the purpose. I'm a bargain shopper so when I see a great deal I'll buy it all. The manager came to the front and asked the cashier what's taking so long and she said was ringing up customers. Instead of the manager being happy they were getting rid of the clearance she went around the removing all the clearance signs and as she removed them she said this is taking to much time and there isn't going to be anymore clearance. I thought that was very rude but I let it slide and chalked it up to she was having a bad day. I returned to this store today to realize that this how she is all the time. The sign read 50% off and it will be taken off at the register. As soon as the cashier started ringing up my the manager asked if she needed help. The sign should have said priced as mark but it didn't. She began to get loud because she remembered me from a few days ago, saying I'm not marking it lower that's the price. I showed her the sign and she just kept saying I'm not marking it down any lower. She's trying to understand why it's taking the cashier so long and that had nothing to do with me. She was unable to ring up the clearance item is what she told me but as I left she put the item back into the cart outside. I'm not sure why that happened but apparently my money is not accepted there so there is no need to come spend my hard earned money in a place where I'm not welcome.

This store is such a huge asset to the town of Dayton. The employees at this store treat you as though you are a part of the family.

The people here make shopping at this Dollar General worth it. They have what they should have in stock, the store is always very clean and organized, but the service is excellent!
