I have been to this location before to look for our next family member and was always greeted with the typical smell of a shelter with a lot of dogs and cats. Not usually pleasant. I recently came back to this facility and couldn’t believe how nice it smelled and looked. The entry way was organized with items for the public to use and the main lobby was clean and smelled so much better than in the past. The director, Shanda introduced us to our now new family member and was very knowledgeable on the dogs temperament, likes and dislikes and shared as much background knowledge of the dogs past that they had. Whatever they’re doing there, keep it up! We had such a pleasant experience and will definitely be back and recommending them to friends and family.

New director seems great! Dogs are well cared for and the dog we originally went to go see didn’t end up getting along with our current dog so she suggested another dog that may be more suitable and it was a perfect match! She knows the dogs well and is working hard to find them good homes.

I adopted a beautiful boy (dog) named Rocket! Once I got him home I noticed a bit of a limp. I called Lake County back and they said to bring him in. They took care of everything the vet, the vet bill, including new vaccines since he was due this January 2024, and showed all the love that they have for him to have a healthy, loving forever home ❤️❤️!! Oh, Rockets limp just turned out to be a sprained ankle I would highly recommend Lake County Animal Control to anyone that I know is a good person and would be a great pet owner! The staff at Lake County are polite, caring, informative, so helpful I couldn't ask for more. ❤️❤️

Staff are highly engaged in the well being of the pets in our county that need homes! I was provided honest answers about the health and needs of the dogs I visited. Thank you for our new best friend.

I recently adopted a little girl. The Staff at LCAS was Awesome. The procedure was easy and the staff was informative. They answered all my questions and knew the dogs. My girl was heaven sent. Thank all of you. Please consider adopting a shelter animal. They need your love.❤️

They were so nice there. Adopted a beautiful cat. They gave me so much stuff to help get the cat taken care of. Will definately go back there and adopt again

We recently adopted our new baby, and the whole process was standard and simple. They are all so kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely love animals. Extremely helpful and kind. I was faced the having no choice but to surrender my pet. They were the only ones that offered him a spot and were kind about it. I was glad to see they found him a home within 2 weeks!Thank you for all kindness and help that my family needed. You staff were all very kind and amazing!

They seem to really want to help animals. Everyone is always friendly and helpful. I have taken stray dogs and cats to them and I have looked at pets to adopt.
