I highly recommend the haircut with Alivia Smith at Salon Independence. She is thorough and did a great job of shampooing and styling my hair. I feel more confident about myself after such a lovely haircut. I also bought Kevin Murphy Body Builder hair volumizer from her since she used it on my hair and I liked it. I got to know her through an acquaintance who did a warm blonde full highlight with hair which was super transformational and lovely. I tried to use this business but unfortunately a waste of my time and my gas! .... Might help if they're would update there business hours with the rest of the world so people like myself do not drive all the way down from Shelbyville only to pull into a dark parking lot with Salon Independence all locked up and looking like they haven't been open in months!

Do not go to Shana, she will cancel on you more than once like she did me, “saying she was sick and had Covid” she cannot do foils correctly she left banding in my hair, didn’t leave the bleach on long enough and does not know what she’s doing! Highly do not recommend her….. poor service

John the owner did a great job on my hair ,it was my first time ever coming here , will be back for sure and it was sure nice to be able to get my haircut on a Sunday I would give 10 stars. absolutely love the good vibes and atmosphere.

I had a little mishap w my hair months ago. I’ve been wearing my hair and head wraps and hats for several months because of it until Angela Schroer helped me in ways I didn’t think was possible. She even taught me how to stylet until my hair grows back out. I am so grateful to her! I highly recommend Angela!
