This little joint is the very definition of diamond in the rough. Hidden within a Mexican grocery store, in an one-waiter establishment serves authentic Mexican I have not experienced in quite a while.

We walked in an FOUR employees were standing/sitting/leaning around the host station. No one greeted us. No one responded when I said hello. Blank stares, so we walked out. I own a restaurant. If I had one employee behave like that, they would be fired immediately. I never write reviews, but this was just downr

Delicious food and friendly staff! Everything is homemade everyday. This is the most authentic food there is. Definitely recommend the tamales. !

I'm a local and tried Mi Tierra's restaurant for the first time last week. As others have said, you enter the grocery store and walk past the meat counter to enter the restaurant portion. There's a good vibe throughout the place. A couple of tv's on the wall were showing old movies. It's quaint and not super fancy. Our waiter was pleasant and helpful suggesting this and that. The arrachera steak was cooked spot on and quite flavorful. The portion of food we got was larger than we typically get at other local Mexican restaurants. We both had to take some home. Nice beer options too.

Love this place. Truly a hole in a wall place. It's located in a mall market , you walk in past the meat counter to the restaurant with about 20 seats. The food here is amazing. I always come for the tacos. It's always fresh and hot when served, they serve it topped with onions and cilantro and a side of grilled onion bulbs, grilled jalapeños, and lime. Goes so well together. Truly authentic tacos. The horchata (rice water with cinnamon) is delicious and doesn't taste chalky like some other places. This is my go to spot whenever i need a taco fix.

This is the only Mexican restaurant I will eat at in all of Columbus. The tacos (I usually get asada and pastor) are phenomenal and are served traditionally - with lime, onions & cilantro on a corn tortilla. The decor is eh, but I can't even complain as the food's quality and price more than make up for it. I eat here probably once a week and see no signs of stopping; it's a quick, delicious and cheap lunch.

I have visited Mi Tierra for dinner, dessert, and carry-out several times. They are a great option for tacos in Columbus, IN especially for the carnivores out there. As for the vegetarians, I have had difficulty ordering vegetarian tacos there. However, I have done so about 3-4 times and each time they seem to think I am a little less crazy than the last time! Their ice cream options are really nice. Technically this is the Las Mangonadas side but they are connected. The mangonadas are nice but personally feel they use too much Tajin making the dessert too salty (the same goes for their popsicles w/ tajin). They do have a happy hour every once in a while for the popsicles making them $1 or so. My biggest reasoning for the low stars is that once I ordered a simple carry-out of chips and salsa and received a questionable cup of salsa. At first I wasn't sure if it had gone bad or if it was a way of making the salsa that was the reason for the unique flavor. I had several people taste it, and unfortunately I tasted it with them each time. The consensus was that it had gone bad but the confirmation was the food poisoning that hit me at 3am afterwards. A few weeks later their health inspection hit the paper and they had 4 critical violations. I am still going to give them another chance but not until their inspections pass consistently!

Mi Tierra is a gem in Columbus! You must enter through the grocery doors and walk past the meat counter into a back room with tables and order at the counter midway through the room. The menu covers most of your Mexican food staples and all the ingredients are extremely fresh considering the grocery store and meat counter are right near the kitchen. However, the guacamole is the star for me. There is a hint of heat and is the perfect chunky/smooth consistency. During the weekends they also make caldo which is the best I've found in Columbus!

This store is great! They have just about all you need from a hispanic grocery store. Also very friendly staff. If you are a taco connoisseur like me, you need to try the taco shop conjoined to this grocery store. Hands down, best in town. Their red salsa really compliments the rest of the ingredients. I recommend their chicken and lengua tacos.

One of my best friends lives here and she's never had a problem with Mi Tierra (the grocery store or the carnicera). She goes there often because they are within walking distance and their chorizo is delicious. She says no one's ever treated her poorly or talked about her (in English or in Spanish). She's never been dissatisfied with their service or quality of goods. I went with her the other day while I'm visiting and everyone was friendly (in English, Spanish, and even Spanglish, jejej). We enjoyed the chorizo yesterday on tortas and again this morning with eggs and pan dulce. Note: My friend and I are both gringas who speak Spanish (we both studied it, lived in Mexico, and now work primarily with Hispanics that don't speak English).
