Tierry (sorry for the spelling error ) was absolutely PHENOMENAL. Although she couldn’t assist me w my situation she was readily there and available to answer all of my questions as well as supply me the resources to get me well on the way to hopefully resolve my issues / concerns . Very kind person overall

Very prompt and quick!! I recently found a dog near my home. Called the shelter. They came to pick up the dog. Saw it had a chip and they found the owner and took her home!! The gentleman even stopped by back to inform me the dog was back home!Awesome service, ?.

They took a turtle that was hit in Edinburgh but refused to take a baby bird who was still fuzzy because it's feathers weren't even formed yet it was so young because I live in Taylorsville despite the fact that I was in Bartholomew County still. Pretty messed up that they will turn an animal away because they were injured not even a mile outside of Columbus. Would have thought that preserving the life of an innocent animal and getting it the help that it needed (I had found the bird at 11pm last night so time was already tight since everything was closed before this point). Luckily I was able to get the bird someplace farther away without anything happening to it. Would have been such a sad shame if the baby hadn't made it because I had to drive someplace that didn't wasn't even open yet.

We adopted the most sweet lab/shepherd mix. We were told she had a yeast infection and that it was almost healed. She would need a little bit more medicine and some baths. As soon as we got her we took her to our vet. It was not a yeast infection at all. This poor dog has severe allergies, 3 differ t bacteria infections all over her skin and a staff infection in both ears. With the proper medication(multiple including allergy meds and very strong antibiotics) she is so much better. We have to give her a bath every other day for months. This dog is well worth with the issues but wanted to let people know care does not have a good vet they use and does not tel the whole story of the dog. We are well past 1500 dollars of vet bills and medicines for this sweet girl. She is a totally different dog now. We feel that we rescued her from the rescue at this point. We did try and talk with staff of care. They wanted our record from our vet to show what they had done. Once we sent them the info…..silence.Unfortunately we had to surrender her back. We weren’t the right fit for her. She needed a family with older children because our toddler stressed her out. She also needs a home with other dogs for companionship. We gave them all of her vet records and information of how we treated her over the four months we had her. We got two different vet opinions and they were the same. She is now up for adoption. They didn’t post updated information after surrendering her. They used the original information and posting from when we adopted her in July. So, I feel like whoever adopts her is going to be boat because they are going to get accurate information of what her medical needs are. They aren’t happy because I called them out on the care she was receiving when we got her. They didn’t like our negative Facebook reviews. Which made communication with them difficult. They don’t have animals best interests in heart. In a way they are doing more harm than good by not providing accurate information and medical care. I just want to save another family from going through this.

Called and made a report of my dog missing and called everyday leaving my name and a description of my dog was told every day that they did not have her. This went on for 5 days. They’ve had her the entire time and now refuse to return my phone call

I emailed about adopting a female medium or large breed puppy with special needs and it was very hard for me because I do not have internet or a computer and am not very good at computers and one of the ladies in charge was very nice and helpful and text my mom back in three days and was very helpful and I would love to work with her and volunteer and work with the animals but I live a hour away but I can not thank her enough for all. Her help and working with me and my mom the other rescue would not even talk to us in till we filled out the application on line and we do not know how to do that thank you so much for all your help!!!!??

Do not use this organization. They aren’t slow to contact because they are busy, it is because they do not want to work with people. We were contacted by a foster for a puppy that we applied for within hours. Set up a meet. Two days later foster pulled back claiming the dog was actually promised to someone else. When we contacted the organization for some sort of apology or assistance, we got neither. Then they bullied us through the foster owner, using that person as a third party harasser.Do not waste your time or your heart on them.

We got our best dog ever from here. She gave us 10.5 wonderful years of companionship. The staff are always very nice when we come in to make donations, it’s a hard place to work and be able to be nice and cheerful, but you can tell they truly love animals.

I cannot say enough good things about CARES... We adopted two puppies from them recently and noticed they weren't feeling well after a few days. I literally called every Veterinarian in Columbus and I couldn't get an appointment. Then, I contacted CARES just to let them know what was going on and they stepped up and made me an appointment that day with their Veterinarian and they took care of all the costs. I got pet insurance for both puppies when we adopted them but since there is a 30 day waiting period, it would not have covered their illness. Ever since then they have reached out to me multiple times to check on my babies and make sure that they are doing okay. Ashley and the rest of the volunteers truly care about each and every one of these puppies and if I ever wanted another dog I wouldnt even consider a different rescue. I was so impressed with their work and their mission that I am going to sign up as a volunteer/foster!

If you are looking for a dog cat even a bunny or ferret, talk to them. We got a rescue kitty from there 2 years ago and he has found a place one our family with 3 dogs. The place takes great effort to care for them.

They were all very sweet. They made the adoption process easy. It was neat how they have a room with the cats to be able to go in and get to know them before you decide who would be a best fit. Would definitely recommend
