Purchased a Ford Ranger in July. Was told by the salesman, and these are his words:"This truck is PERFECT except for some rust" and he went to great lengths to tell us that he knew the history of the truck, it's prior owner etc etc.The day after we purchased it we found out that the 4WD didn't work, the check engine light came, the O/D Off light and one other error light came on.It is highly unlikely, at least in my mind, that one day after purchase all four of those sensors failed if those codes didn't exist beforehand. It seems far more likely that the codes were cleared hoping that someone would purchase the truck "As is" and then not notice the lights until it was too late.When I contacted them they begrudgingly agreed to evaluate the error codes and we took the truck back to their service bay. They fixed several things and we paid for half of the repairs. Again, these are all error codes that magically appeared one day after we took ownership.A month later the truck died, just shut off, in the middle of a busy intersection with my son driving and his brother in the passenger seat. Back to their service shop the truck went.Now, four months after purchase the transmission has failed and I'm going to have to pay more than $3000 to have it repaired/replaced. And there is some reason to believe that the O/D off light flashing could have been an indicator of some larger issue in the drivetrain. I didn't know this at the time because I'm not a mechanic but they acted as though it was no big deal.Seems like a lot of failures for a truck that is "Perfect except for some rust" and every time I've pointed out these errors I've been essentially blown off. I understand that when you buy a used car you assume risk but you would hope to get more than four months out of an almost $10k car before a catastrophic failure occurs.Or, at the very least, maybe don't tell people that the vehicle is a shining gem when there is plenty of reason to believe that they knew that it wasn't.

In 2013 we used Rhoades Automotive car finding service to get the exact SUV our family needed. Rhoades Automotive has provided service for that SUV the entire time we have owned it. Fair pricing and the staff doesn't give you the run around.If you do not want to utilize Rhoades Automotive car finding service, they keep great used cars on the lot. We just bought a 2000 Porche Boxter off the lot. The car is in excellent condition and a blast to drive. We got a great price too.We will continue to use Rhoades Automotive for service and our next used car.

We had one of our From My Side of the Kitchen delivery vans detailed at Rhoades Automotive recently. This van is driven daily by people that don’t own it, it hauls food that sometime gets messy and frankly it was awful. When we pick up the van it looked showroom new again! Their attention to detail was exceptional and we could not have been more pleased.

i just bought my 5th car from Rhoades. I don't even look at other dealers. Lamont is honest and ethical and treats customers right. He buys cars at auction in FL so they have no rust, low miles and are in near-mint condition. Our latest purchase never made it to his web site. We told him what we were looking for while he was in FL, he found it and we test drove it and bought it the day it arrived in CC. Lamont has become more of our used car friend than our used car dealer. On a scale of 1-5 stars, Rhoades gets 10.
