I’ve been coming here since 2003, and i basically furnished over half of my apartment from this one store alone in the last ten years. Aside from my own personal feelings of nostalgia, I absolutely hate the new store layout.
Before, the store was well organized with half of the store being clothing and accessories and half of it being decor, kitchen supplies, etc. The checkout counter was directly in front of and just to the right of the entrance, and as soon as you walked in you would directly see whoever was at the counter and get a nice greeting. It truly was the last thrift store in the area with a true thrift store vibe and decent prices.
Now though, it feels corporate. The remodel wasn’t bad per se, but it gutted all of the character. It’s trying too hard to feel like a newer retail store, and the increased prices reflect that change. The store layout now consists of the checkout counter being at the front of the store next to the front wall, and it’s not very noticeable when you walk in. It used to feel like a welcoming social hub, and now it feels like any regular checkout counter because it’s removed from the activity of the store.
The clothing items are now spread around both main sections with the decor items mostly around the perimeter. It just doesn’t have the dusty old charm it had before. It feels like any regular goodwill now. Such a shame to just erase the charm and character. It’s also just not as welcoming.
I used to come here 2-4 times a week, and I would always see so many seniors especially who were shopping there to spend money but also to socialize. I’m not seeing as many of the same regulars I used to, and I wonder if the store changes are the reason why.

This used to be a great store with reasonable prices and helpful staff. That's not the case anymore. The woman's section used to have quality items and occasionally nice quality vintage things mixed in priced the same as all the rest. You could get nice kitchen items such as plates and bowls for under a dollar, usually around fifty cents or so.
I noticed in the last year prices were creeping up and the number of quality items has been in decline.
Since the remodel, prices are up even more, the amount of stuff on the shelves is WAY down, the 1/2 price sale on older items is gone, and the quality of the stuff that is on the shelves is often a step above what I'd toss at the end of the yard sale. Small pinch bowls used to be a quarter to fifty cents each, yesterday they had a few and they were priced between $1-2 each, so basically around retail.
Many of the clothes on the shelves are dirty or stained, often look used, and it looks like the nice stuff I used to find doesn't make it to the sales floor anymore. I suspect management must be either pulling the nice stuff to send to other locations, selling it on a website, or they've made a deal with private buyers who buy directly off the back room. But hey, you can't try on clothes here because they got rid of changing rooms 4 years ago so maybe it doesn't really matter?
The last few times I was in I noticed the nice ladies that I'd seen in there for years were no longer there, makes me wonder why. Between this and everything outlined above I assume they either left over some of the internal changes or were fired by the young new manager I saw walking around. But hey, think of the labor savings when you can have teenage boys clean the store instead of hiring and paying adults a living wage. (Yes, I saw young boys shorter than a broom pushing a dust mop around the store when I was in earlier this week)
I know thrift stores have turned into thrift grifts in the last four years, but it's disappointing to see this happen to what used to be my favorite local thrift store.

I travel a lot and stop in thrift stores in every city, this store is one of the best thrift stores I have been to! The items were amazing and prices reasonable. I loved their huge selection of earrings and brooches. Lots vintage Pyrex and household. Shoes very clean. Staff was very nice and friendly. I wish I had more room to bring things home.

Ok place. Clothes are decently priced but everything else is in the higher end. Don't bother looking at the electronics. They are untested and don't take returns but yet they still want to dollar for them.

I shop here often (as often as I can considering the hours LOL). I thought I would run in just to look at the home decor at 4:50 (they close at 5). Truly would only take a minute. Immediately I was greeted at the door by a guy saying they close in 3 minutes (4:53? HAHA) and I said “I thought you close at 5:00”. The cashier proceeds to yell across the store “the register closes in five seconds”. So I’m literally sprinting through the store to look at what I came for and then there’s immediately an announcement that they are turning off the lights in the store (5 minutes before close???) and then the lady comes and finds me and says “you’re going to be in the dark”. Believe it or not, I actually did just confirm at the door I know what time the store closes. But do yall??? 5:00 means 5:00 as far as I’m concerned and at every job I’ve ever worked. When I worked at a restaurant the last customer was allowed in at closing time and they stayed until they were finished. However, as I said this was a quick focused trip that would have been 5 minutes tops. I have never experienced such rude customer service and from an organization aimed at helping people??? And with a Christian mission? It was embarrassing for the organization and I’ll keep it in mind when choosing where to thrift.

I understand that they did remodeling of the store and that they have a "mission" but the prices have gone ridiculous high. And my guess is that there were things fixed that customers can't see but the store looks rearranged at most.

It’s clean and orderly with lots of space. For me, it was not my vibe. If you’re over 60, I think this is the place you want to go (based on the number of over 60 people in the store and checking out). I didn’t get a chance to see the building materials because they were short staffed and had it closed. The best part of this store is the tiny vintage clothes section in the women’s department. Fyi, there are more vintage/antique clothes around besides in that spot.

People are rude, the place is disgusting. If this is how they treat their customers I would hate to know how they treat the people they are supposed to be providing ministers too. What a real let down.

I hate giving this organization a poor rating because I support their mission. I do have to report the checkout Man, white hair mid 60's is a very rude man. I asked how you can get prices on flooring or windows since they were not priced. He rudely look at me and said it's common knowledge that I have to ask. I responded that this was exactly what I was doing and I said a sign would be nice saying that. He then looked at me and said" my cow died and he did not need my bull" Ha. I took the high road and simply turned and left. Sad people like this exist. Sorry Salvation Army but I guess good people are hard to find these days.
