Ladies at the counter could not be any less friendly. Always unfortunate when I have to stop in here.

This is by far one of the worst post offices I’ve ever had the displeasure of operating with. I’m a disabled veteran and I get medication mailed to me from the VA hospital and for four months in a row I’ve tried to come up with a course to have my medication delivered without having to chase it down or any of the ridiculous procedures they’re offering. I call the post office, repeatedly, and no one answers my phone calls, I’ve gone to the post office in person to try and receive my package and coincidentally, nobody knows where the drivers at or when they’re going to return. And even when I fill out the redelivery forms with very simple instructions, they never follow through, and my medication nearly gets sent back because of the incompetence these people exhibit. It is 2023 and it should not be this hard to establish some type of working solution, especially when it has been made crystal clear who I am, why I’m asking this of them. If I could give them zero stars I would. I will be contacting a manager or someone of the sort.

I had submitted an online request about some missing packages, the postmaster called and the next day the packages were located, I so appreciate the professionalism!

I have lived in Chesterton Indiana for 15 years this post office has they don't deliver on they constantly change our carrier they walked across the yard and broke all our solar energy lights I have tried to speak to the Chesterton postmaster he never comes to the front desk you can't call and now we have another new carrier that has an attitude like I don't care you know why? because they don't have to

Sold an item online to a friend serviced by this post office. It's been "moving through the network" for two months now, filed a claim to be given the surprise treatment of "We're only going to give you half of the value back" so now I'm gonna be out 20 dollars because my friend's package was lost/stolen, and still haven't gotten the check despite putting the claim in over 2 weeks ago. Good job USPS.If you need to send a package to someone here, use FedEx or UPS. Sorry guys, y'all permanently lost a customer here.

Polite, but has done nothing about my missing package. The phone system says they are closed when calling before 6pm, stating the office closes at 6pm. I'll try calling again tomorrow.I understand the USPS is an imperfect thing, but it's odd to have a phone system akin to a restaurant that cuts the kitchen off a half hour before closing time.

I sent out an envelope with documents for a life insurance policy and it hasn't arrived at its destination yet. When will the documents arrive at their intended location on the envelope?

I’ve received packages from China and Canada and Texas before I can get a package delivered in the same state of Indiana from here. Horrible service

Customer service is so rude there I try to drop off mail at a PO Box and they said I can’t and would have to pay for them dropping it off at the PO Box that’s in the same building

One star is far too much! Delivery personnel appear to be selected based on hiring the most incompetent and illiterate people possible! The local post office is unable to deliver mail, unable to hold mail for pickup, and unable to follow their own policy!

Had a pickup scheduled 2 days in a row that was not picked up. Actually had to send someone to the post office to drop off the package. The next day the postoffice sends an E-mail saying the package was picked up. No one answers their phone when you call in. Poor customer service and no one available to ask why.

Horrible customer service. Never answer the phone. Multiple issues with mis-deliveries. Recently didn’t deliver a package because it wouldn’t fit in the mailbox. So instead of coming down the driveway and leaving it at the door (which is literally your job) they leave a note in the mailbox. Then can’t find my package at the the physical store. Absolute joke.

My dealings with staff inside the post office have been great! Always receive fast, friendly and quality service. However, delivery has been a different story. We lost our regular carrier last year due to illness. Although delivery since then has generally been ok, have had a few things delivered to me that were for people elsewhere in the subdivision or in another part of town altogether.Today took the cake. I unwrapped a magazine, and noticed there was an identical one in my unopened mail. This caused me to stop and look at the name on the wrapping. It was to another person in the subdivision. So I took the other magazine and removed its packaging. Then it dawned on me that maybe it wasn’t for me, either. No, it wasn’t. This copy was for someone in another part of town. Then I checked envelopes. There was one for someone else in the subdivision — a different person than the one whose magazine I received!THREE in one day??? What gives?

I think the postal workers at the Chesterton Post Office are competing against each other as to who can move the slowest and do the least amount of work.

No assistance or a care about anyone. Called and came in person to request about lost mail and packages. Why use them if your not receiving anything you pay for.
