This store has not been maintained in a long time, It is filthy and smells. I find it difficult to walk in the front door (although the door has been broken for quite some time, you'd think DG would fix it) but because of the strong cigarette odor from employees or customers standing outside to smoke. Although Cedar Lake is changing for the better, this store still resembles the hillbilly effect that this town once portrayed

I asked for help checking out and Cindy got mad. She was disrespectful and said "what you can't use self checkout" with an attitude.I told her I always have problems with them. Should then proceeded to talk smart to me and get upset. She said "well let me show you how to do it so I can get back to what's more important you can't be that stupid"I told her thank you for your help and I appreciate your time. She laughed at my face.

The store has been cleaned up, immensely looks so much better than the one that I went to yesterday in a different area more of the owners should take note and how it looks

Went there on a Saturday and put coupons on my app when I asked the cashier if it took my coupons off he said it might have he was absolutely not willing to look he said it will show up when your receipt comes out. This is not the first time but it is definitely the last. I will not go back.

Not only is the store horribly organized, but some of the employees are unbelievably rude. I went in because I needed dish soap, I paid with a 50 dollar bill because I also needed to break some change. The man at the counter was visibly upset by me handing him $50 and made a sighing sound while aggressively giving me my change. I could definitely understand how making change for $50 is aggravating, but it isn’t appropriate to make a fuss in front of a customer over it. If he would have asked me if I could give him a different amount to pay with, I would have gladly went back and reciprocated. I would recommend a different location, or even dollar store, if you’re planning on going.

the clerk hit my ankle in the isles. i didn't think anything of it, except the cart was empty. in line after the fellow had all his items in his cart, i put my 4 items on the check out area and thought nothing of it. The clerk started yellowing at me , telling me she will tell me when i can approach. it was funny becausecit was so trivial. the place is well stocked, i was looking for hamburger meat, but couldnt find it

The blonde clerk/mgr is very rude, she answered her phone while checking me out and made me wait while she chatted on the phone.. beyond rude.. she is always rude..

I am giving them five stars because even though they're closing at 4 but they are short staffed and I understand that but the people that are there absolutely amazing they go out of their way to help you and I just wish that my application for part-time work at night would get pushed forward so that we could use that store more often at night because it is the only store in the town of Schneider that we have we really need that for the people that don't get off of work until 4 or 5 and then it was too late to go there so a lot of people are left hanging in the cold so if Dollar General management gets this message look for my application from 3 months four months ago I work straight days been with the company for a lot of years just want some extra income in the evenings because they are open for me
