Xlibris is a scam! I should have check reviews first. A 2.8 rating. Xlibris sold me a publishing fee and one thing was set your own price, SYOP, Xlibris set their own price for my childrens book of 82 pages at 28.99. I set my own price at 19.99. Who in the average American family would pay 28.99 on a book for the young child???? Don't use them! They outsource to The Philippines!

Xlibris is a SCAM! dont use to publish your book or any other services. They received a 2.8 rating from Google maps. They sold me a fee and I had "set your own price" "SYOP" I set my price for 19.99 for my childrens book of 82 pages. Come to find out that they set my book "Poncho and the Pony Rides" for 28.99. What AVERAGE AMERICAN FAMILY can afford to by a childrens book? Not my Daughter in law. They outsource to The Phipipeans they call me everyday and more than 3 times on several days. I dedicated this book to read to my 6 year old granddaughter. Dont use them!

If there was an option for negative stars, that's what I would give. I had no idea they had such horrendous reviews. Alas, it was my wife who signed up with them without researching them first. Anyway, stay as far away from this company as humanly possible. Lots of promises that they were unable to deliver, and then if you knew the amount of hassle we went through to get a substandard partial refund, you would be shocked - months and months of pursuing them. If you insist on using them, read every tiny piece of fine print with an attorney present, because they'll nail you on everything and won't even be able to deliver what they promise in the end. It's been nothing but an incredibly miserable experience. Stay far, far away. You WILL regret it!

The only thing I'm left to do is warn other authors not to publish with xlibris. They have published my book and are selling it on so many platforms and keeping the royalties. This company is a scam.

I have self-published five books with Trafford Publishing and four books with Xlibris. I started in **************************** 2022. They both are under Author Solutions. My books with Trafford are: Ill Wait; How to Survive on a Little; (Poetry) Thoughts Feelings Visions Memories;**** Most Dangerous Mission (Sequel to Ill Wait) and (Poetry) Thoughts of Mind.My books with Xlibris are: Love Has No Color; A Girl Named *****(A Miracle for *****); who Did It?(Mystery); The Pirates Who Found ***********I am very satisfied with all of my books. They were printed relatively fast. They printed them the way I instructed and I am very happy. The only problem is I believed they were priced too high which has hindered sales but I have sold quite a few. The written reviews are off the wall. Most people (strangers) have bought at least two of my books and one lady bought six. I am HAPPY!

In an email from my Senior Punlishing Consultant dated Tuesday,Nov 2,2021 at 1:48 PM the last two sentences are: Keep in mind that printing is unlimited and distribution is lifetime. So, if we sold 1 million copies in 2022,then your total earning will be $11,860,000 with $11,860,000.00 underlined. As of 4/10/2023 I am told not even one copy was sold. Thank you for reading Brad Lucas

Absolutely horrible. Been waiting on a refund for 2 years now with some refund specialist named AL that keeps dragging this out in hopes that I forego my hard earned money. After all my time and efforts, this week Al informed me that a refund will be processed with a deduction of $240 admin fee. Despicable! I am contesting this and will be taking this case to the commerce commission board. Ugh, such a distasteful experience.

If I could leave zero, I would. This company is a joke, the worst kind of scammer. I have paid this company at least 3,000, for the publishing, to make it "returnable" so I could put it in retail stores, then I find out that because it was self published even Barnes and Noble won't have it in their stores but will have it in their website. It has now been 2 years since I have gotten any royalties whatsoever because they are demanding a bank account. They need to be sued into non existence. The lies, the gaslighting, and stealing needs to be stopped.

My now deceased father attempted to publish his memoir with this company. Over two years went by, and there is still no physical book. After his death my brother and I discovered he had been hounded with marketing phone calls at all hours of the day and night (they kept coming after he died, so we were aware, having his phone). We also discovered they talked him into upgrading the marketing of said memoir (including the statement that Hollywood would option this and it would be a blockbuster!), and in the process solicited over $100,000 from him (yes, that's $100K!).That they would use such deceptive practices to bilk an elderly man out of the majority of his savings is utterly unconscionable!Run, do not walk, away from this charlatan of a "publisher" and keep your hard earned money.

Publishing my book with Xlibris has been one of the worst experiences of my life. Every step of the way was assigned to a different person about 14 in all. They sent me forms to sign in read only format, so I had to go to ups and get them signed and returned, added expenses every time. They put the book out for sale before sending me a final draft to review. They changed the cover artwork completely and omitted the illustrators names. I had sent a complete book, cover, title page, dedication and all illustrations with the manuscript. They said they couldn't put the words on the same page as the illustrations, even though every other publisher does it. The promotional package came out weeks after the book was on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. Now it's a fight to try to get paid the royalties I've earned. One thing I've learned is: how NOT to publish a book...Xlibris!

I have been with Archway Publishing since 2013. I did have some issues in the beginning with communication. However, I was listened to and in one department I ended up with a new person that I worked well with. I have been pleased with the product. I have 2 books published with them and will be working with them. My royalties have been put in the bank. I want to own my material and this is why I took this route. You do need to promote your own book as well for sales. It is a learning process perhaps archway could have an informational video on what is expected from you the Author as well as what package best suits your desired outcomes.

Xlibris and Author Solutions is a predatory self publishing company. I signed up for their basic package, and from the moment i signed up, i started receiving 3-4 sales calls a week, from Alfred(my publishing contact) to upgrade my package. I told him several I did not have the money right now and he said he understood, but never relented with the sales calls. I felt harassed. Because Xlibris gave me the impression that they were only after my money, I decided to cancel my contract with them, within my 90 days so as to get a full refund, and it has been like pulling teeth to get a response from them. They wont give me a direct number to the 'refund department. I have to go through Alfred, my publishing contact. After a week of dragging his feet, I called him and he told he would submit the refund request when he had time. Mind you at this point, writing this review right now, there are only 6 days left before my account hits the 90 day mark. it appears to me that they are trying to draw out the process til after my 90 day contract clause so they don't have to refund me. They owe me over $700. It looks like I will have to pursue legal action to get my money back from them. DO NOT self publish through Xlibris! All they want is your money. And they will harass you with sales calls from the moment you sign up. And good luck getting your money back. They are a horrible and shady company.

Horrible company ! These people should be rotting in prison instead of publishing books ! I published two books with them in 2020. In January of 2022, I legally broke all ties with them. This is because they refused to pay me my royalties. They signed a legal written agreement to stop selling my books on Amazon, e-campus and through other venders. To this day, my books are still being sold both digitally and in print. This is totally illegal yet they keep doing it. The criminals at Xlibris are beyond the law. They are gaslighting narcissists out to take your money. Once they have your creativity in their clutches it's hard to get it back. Republishing is expensive, I know because I've done it. Xlibris is now competing with my republished book at 1/4 the price ! This has hurt the sales of my republished book. It has also destroyed my credibility as an author. I have legal proof, yet the criminal activity goes on. Don't publish with Xlibris ! I have lost so much of my life force dealing with them. I have nearly had a nervous breakdown. These people are as low down, dirty, and evil as they come !
