As a former cake decorator, I understand what it's like to be short on help, but what I can't understand is when I called to order a PLAIN CHOCOLATE quarter sheet cake that literally would take less than 10 mins to ice and write happy birthday, I was told that all the decorators were off by 1pm.....It's a Friday right now and Friday and Saturday are usually the busiest days of the week and I was told by the young man who took my call that he didn't know if they could do it and that I would have to check back in the morning. I asked if he could just take the order and I could even give him a 3 hour window . He then informed me that deli workers were NOT suppose to take cake orders.... exactly how in the heck am I suppose to call in a cake order when I'm at work before they even clock in, and by the time I get off, they've somehow got off before me?! Lol I guess I'm just irritated about the fact that nobody could take a cake order and the cake decorators don't work past 1pm on the weekends..... I wasn't ever allowed to refuse a cake order no matter how backed up I was and after I went home around 5 or 6pm the deli workers would also be trained to write down any orders and a phone number for the customer to be reached. If I would've handled this situation such as this complaint, I'd be without a job.....bit this is Walmart so I guess I expected as much. So, looks like I'm making and decorating a cake for tomorrow because Walmart can't.....
