The employees were really nice and very helpful. They were also very respectful, which is something I've had issues with at some other hardware stores as a young woman.

Not the same anymore. Been like this for a few years now. They make you feel rushed and it's most definitely not the small hometown store experience anymore. Welcome to today, I suppose.

Philip was incredibly helpful when I needed to replace a battery in my cars key fob. Not only did he show me how to open the fob but also the type of battery I needed and made sure I was able to purchase that battery. Thank you!!

Wow, first negative customer service experience I've had here and it was bad. Assistant manger (male, young) talked right over me (female, senior), cut me off, didn't smile or say thank you, and was generally a big turnoff, as in I will avoid him in future. The only good news is that in America there are fewer sexist men every day.

Never have I run into such a shallow business where complaining about something got you kicked out of the store. They called my complaining being rude and they didn't need people like me. So be careful not to complain or you will be told to never come back. This store can get by with things like this because they haven't let themselves fall into corporate hands. they have faught against it so they can do whatever they want. This place is very expensive to shop at and they can do that because they don't have any other hardware stores on that side of town, and have people who aren't qualified to run an ant farm. They don't even have everything you need for projects. You'd have to go to Lowes or another place to get what you need. I have found a lot of what I need at Hobby Lobby, right behind them too. So you might want to check Hobby Lobby as well for your needs and you can find them cheaper. This store has also taken advantage of the price gouging as well as they have raised things even higher.

My favorite lamp was repaired and good as new in two days. The price was quite reasonable also.

Make sure to thoroughly test any items you buy here. I bought a 100 foot water hose at the end of July to wash off my asphalt for sealing. Used the hose middle of August for the first time, immediately cracked and became garbage. Tried to return/exchange 34 days after purchase with receipt. If it's after 30 days, you're boned friend. No refunds or exchanges even. Be careful buying stuff here, friends.

Bought two plumbing parts made of pvc. Neither worked. When I went to take them back the very next day, because one in a plastic bag had been opened they refused the return. Went to lowes and found both parts, that worked for a fraction of the price. Very disappointed as I was trying to support a “more local” store… never again- unfriendly and overpriced. You’ve lost my business.

Even though they didn't have what I came in for I'm not going to make a complaint. It's wonderful to find a hardware store that is still exactly that a hardware store. Every aisle hat with multitudes of different styles and tights of every tool and necessity for each project type that you might run into. There wasn't none of this one brand selection and maybe the store brand with one or two options it was need something electrical different types of tools for that job that they make you'll find much like any other Ace hardware type store that I've been in prices a little higher can you beatbox Grant stores however it's worth it you know you're going to get what you need when you need it keep it up Bloomington hardware definitely worth a little extra in my book, because when it comes to getting the job done and done right peace of mind out race price when you need the right tool and you know there's a place like this where you can get it on the first try and be done project done and go home enjoy your day.

After having a terrible experience at Lowe’s trying to get paint matched, I came in with very low expectations & they were blown out of the water! Hannah was so sweet and quick to help and matched my paint ridiculously well! She really helped me out and I can’t express how grateful I am for the help!

This is my favorite Bloomington institution! It's so friendly and fun and helpful. Why closed on Sundays now? My favorite day to garden and run to the store for mulch, weed treatments, etc. You are forcing me and a lot of other Elm Heights residents to run to the big box stores on the westside for supplies. Such a wasted revenue for this store.

We have been going here for 20 years! We will NEVER go there again! As soon as we walked in, we were not "greeted" but we were asked if we needed help, I stated "no thank you" and the guy just stood there staring @me, so I continued to tell him what I was looking for, not only did he act like he had no idea what I was talking about, ( I walked away to keep shopping) but he then followed me to EVERY SINGLE AISLE I WENT IN! He finally left me alone , only for a woman to immediately approach my husband and I and do the same thing! We were then followed all the way to the register, where we , much to their surprise I'm sure, PAID FOR OUR ITEMS! IT WAS THE MOST EMBARRASSING AND ULTIMATELY DISRESPECTED MOMENT WE HAVE EVER BEEN THROUGH! Word to the wise, if you even remotely look "different" (ex. A lot of tattoos, or dont dress to their standards) I dont recommend going in here, if you dont want to be judged, and "stalked" around the store the entire time your in there. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! SHAME ON YOU BLOOMINGTON HARDWARE! JUST LOST A CUSTOMER OF 20 YEARS!!

A great place, not corporate at all with a wonderful staff always there to help you, guide you in anything you are trying to accomplish from big to small project regardless of your level of expertise. Another important aspect: it's right there, close to Kroger on College Mall and unless you want, really want to drive to the other side of town to other harware retailers this Bloomington Hardware is the place to go! And still the best place to go!
