The atmosphere of the fishing shed is next to none. Always really friendly, bait selection is very close to bigger shops and be close in proximity to the campgrounds is always nice to have.

Been going here many years, one of the best places to grab a sandwich after fishing. They offer many live bait options as well. Take some time to look at the photo albums they have throughout the years.

Friendly staff. Great sandwiches made fresh. I even found Christmas gifts in the fishing store! A nice little oasis for campers and boaters!

Short bit: Prices are too prideful, stock up on everything before you have to shop here. Don’t forget to take pictures of prices, otherwise owner will refute the review.Only place open to buy smokes and snacks after the shop on the lake closes (over 20 minutes to the nearest gas station) and the prices show it.They did have ethanol free gas at 3.60 which was nice but went to get smokes and snacks. Can of monster? $6. Can of Pringles? Nearly $4. Smokes? Over $10 per pack.Spoke with a DNR guy when I got back to the lake, told me about them selling Kroger cans at double the price. My suggestion to the owners would be, if you’re buying at cost, get a better supplier. If you’re not, then just tack on an extra $1, don’t just double every price tag.Owner Response:1. “You have grossly misrepresented our prices.”The monster had a $6 sticker on it and your employee told me 10.35 for Newport’s. Either your employees are skimming or you’re willfully lying, but I can assure you I have nothing to gain by making things up.2. “And yes, our gas is more expensive than town.”And perhaps you missed where I had complimented that.3. “If you are unhappy with those prices, you are more than welcome to drive 10 minutes(not 20)”Again as with the first, I have nothing to gain by lying. Perhaps go outside of your store, open “maps”, type “gas station” and tell me it doesn’t say 20 minutes.4. “If some of our prices are high, it is because we are a convenience store. Walmart is 30 minutes into town.”Your condensation towards a customer pointing to factual information combined with your apparent outrage speaks volumes of you as an owner. The rest of the price gouging makes sense.

I LOVE the Fishin Shedd. The service is always phenomenal, especially when Grace D is working. The chicken salad sandwiches at the Shedd are the best in the Midwest. I crave them. I think about them nonstop. Not to mention the boat mechanics here are sexy! Fantastic establishment.

The authority in convenient, delicious food by Lake Monroe. Whether you're stopping to gas up the boat or bout on a bike ride, make sure to check out the deli. Their range of breakfast, lunch and dessert is awesome. Have yet to have anything but exceptional sandwiches, but my favorites are the Reuben, the turkey and bacon club, and an unstoppable biscuit and gravy recipe. Get some of the homemade cookies for the road, too.You will find healthy and hearty options to fuel up, and the staff is as friendly as the food is great. Don't miss it on your next visit to the lake!
