Very disappointed in their sales representative. He seemed disengaged and uncaring when we were on the phone. His "I don't care" attitude was a complete disservice and because of that - I'm not going to pursue any contract with them. Very sad if he was all the company had as the "face of the organization ".

I was given a special offer from Iuniverse in 2020 for a premiere publishing package. The representative was very eager for me to submit my project, something I know now that was to just get me to purchase copies of my book. I continued to work on my book of poetry of next two years. When I reached out to find out what to do next in the process I was told that I never signed a contract within 90 days of getting the receipt that showed the $1700 publishing package was taken care of. Further, that even though it was not my fault that iuniverse never sent the contract or told me I needed to v sign anything, I found out today I would have to start over, and send them $1700 if I wanted to move forward. I know self publishing places like this are a scam even before I started with this company. I just didn't know they would not honor their commitments. Thankfully this has led me to do more research and find a much more reputable company than Iuniverse with which to do business.

IUniverse makes money on your books and doesn't pay you your royalties. Even when you know personally about sales or find there is a suspicious drop off in historical sales, they ask you to "prove it." Do not use this company, it is a scam.

I universe has not paid my simple small royalty check of $36.32 which should have been paid in Feb of 2018. They do not pay their authors royalty checks ! Every time I write or call to get it fixed, they give me the run around. They have verified my address several times, but I still have no check. Why don't they pay their authors the royalties which by contract they owe? I spent a fortune with them getting the book published, and now they won't pay the tiny amount they owe me ! I am very upset !

I found that iUniverse is a very professional team, as they put my book together and for to be sold to the public, and I will highly recommend them to anyone who wants to do a book for publication!!!!!:D
