Indiana University Surplus Stores is a very interesting place for both the public and university members to find good prices and some unusual items. It is a fun place to look, with everything from retired desks and football uniforms to last year's lost and found. Every visit is a new adventure. The store sells all things university, including clothing, IU apparel, shoes, books, desks, chairs, monitors, computers, and much more. Things seem to turn over rapidly, and there are great deals to be had, like new shoes or office furniture for low prices. However, the store has a lot of wasted space and junk everywhere, and it could be organized much better. Some days the selection may seem like mostly junk, but to someone else it could be treasure. The staff is friendly. The store only accepts credit and debit card payments, and you must wear a mask to enter.
Check what you buy because you can’t return items. After two broken office chairs and a wardrobe that smells like something horrible, I’ve learned my lesson. But if you’re careful, there are some really good deals .

Store is well organized. Prices are fair, not crazy-cheap. Hoarders looking for a bargain will be disappointed. For everyone else, this is a better shopping experience than meeting up with some stranger off Facebook Marketplace.
