We only initiated care for our two dogs with Combs because they were the only vet accepting new pets when we moved to Bloomington a couple years ago.
When I lost my job we were not able to pay rent let alone afford wellness exams for our 2 dogs (I am chronically ill and couldn't afford my own medication). We recently were able to get our 2y 8 mnth shih poo neutered at PetsAlive. They gave a list for when to call them and when to call his normal vet. My dog had not pooped since the surgery at 4 days post-op, peed once, andvwas barely eating or drinking. When I called Combs they stated they will not see him because he hasn't been there in 2 years so he is "not current "
Once again I was out of work so maybe if you prices weren't so high. They said they need to do a wellness exam before anything, but they were ok booking him for a expensive surgery and to get a rabies shot when we called prior to scheduling with PetsAlive. You are telling me that surgical complications are going to be different in a dog you saw 2 years ago vs one you saw last week? This is the sort of practice from a buisness that cares more about money than anything else.
It was recommended we go to urgent care which will be even more expensive, and I can't come up with that much. Thanks Combs for caring so much about animals.

First wellness visit for our new puppy. Since it had been awhile since we had a pet this young, we had lots of questions. The techs and Doctor was so patient with us and provided us with lots of good suggestions. Very clean and well-organized facility. Highly recommend Combs to others.

We had a great experience at Combs Veterinary Clinic! We got an appointment within a reasonable amount of time (which, in Bloomington, usually means within a month at the earliest). Our cat is terribly fractious, and despite that, Dr. Miller-Kaplan and Brittany handled her like a champ! They were gentle and safely controlled her, did an incredibly thorough exam, and answered all my questions. I am confident in this office taking care of our cat. I highly recommend them!

Combs is my go to vet. This past Thursday I took my kitten Bourbon in to get fixed. They did a good job. They texted me when his surgery was over about 11:30am then he was able to come home by 3:00pm. They sent him home with some Anti inflammatory / pain medication for 3 days. He took them pills no problem he just take them right out of my hand. Today is day 3 post surgery and he is doing good. He just hates the cone. ??

I have taken my pets to Combs Veterinary Clinic for the last year and every person we interact with makes our pets feel safe and welcome. I am particularly grateful to Dr. Miller for her recommendations (medicine, foods, specialists) for our pet's specific needs. I recommend calling in advanced because their appointments fill up quickly!

They put our little one at ease. She was shaking going in, but once they started talking to her and using her name she stopped shaking.

I am by far happy with the professionalism that I experienced here with my bird cheese cake the two ladies that handled her were very nice and sweet and were very gentle with my lovebird I will definitely be bringing her back here in the future for more visits. If you have a bird I highly recommend this place for vet visits

We have been patients there for 7 years, have had 3 different dogs, and when we have a dog who is hurt they refused to see the dog without an appointment.
Find some place that will care for your pets better.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Bruiser has improved immensely with the steroids and antibiotics. I never thought I would be celebrating wax chunks just falling out of his ears and no more eye gunk. You were a second opinion but so far you are #1!!!!!
