The customer service is fairly quick. I appreciate the workers that have helped me. They have a fair selection of dap chaulk and big stretch. Their lumbar section is decent, I just wish when I had a big order to load that I could get some help sometimes. However you can't always get everything you want.

First time shopping there today and I couldn’t be happier. I had to go back three times for a faucet hose because I kept getting the wrong size at one end or the other. They were great and on the third time I asked for help to get the right size ( I brought the old one with me). They were friendly and helpful and most of all their prices were what you’d pay at one of the big stores and not marked up like some other hardware store I’ve gone to before. I’ll be shopping there from now on.

Lumber is often better quality and sometimes cheaper than the big box stores. They will cut lumber for you at $1 per cut. Well worth a few cuts to fit high grade plywood into my car for home projects. Support local business when it makes sense.

I Love Black Lumber! Every single time I go no matter how busy they are like the first week in Aug I am asked if I need help. I have found really hard to find screws and such and they have cleaning products, trash bags, paper towels ect. at a great price. I love the paint as well and the color is matched perfect. Plus they have drinks and snacks at rock bottom prices. Black Lumber is my go to.

My wife and I are new to Bloomington and we've been to Black Lumber a few times for odds and ends - mostly ok service, but in this particular case I just needed a single plank of decking lumber. I called the store first and asked if they had the lumber available, and they assured me that they did. It was a nice day and I just wanted walk to the store which is very close to us. I paid for my board and went back to the lumber yard with my receipt as instructed. I didn't have a truck, which seemed to confuse everybody. That's ok. What's not ok is that I was being berated by some j*** driving a forklift telling me that I should have a truck, and how I was lucky that he was unloading a trailer with lumber. When I mentioned that I spoke with an associate to make sure there was some decking boards left, he cut me off... "DOESN'T MATTER!". I guess having long hair, Birks and sunglasses, sans truck makes me some kind of unwelcome guest. Message received, Black Lumber - I don't need you either. Customer beware!
