This vet is incredible! From when I was first scheduling an appointment they went above and beyond, reaching out to another clinic to get my cat’s vaccine records because I couldn’t find where they sent them to me. Then once I was there they explained everything they would be doing with my sweet girl and had a breakdown of each expense and for the 200$+ expenses they said they would call before doing them. I got a call later in the day about how my sweet girl was doing and it was clear they had spent time with her (they said she was very sassy and vocal lol!) I could not be happier with my experience and I highly recommend this vet!!

Friendly, authentic, and relatively quick even with a line of people and seemingly small staff.

Arlington Heights Veterinary North has known about my plans to move to Norway since I made them aware way back in April 2024 and they messed up bad by not getting me the USDA certified paperwork I need in time to travel with my dog and cat. I’ve communicated this whole time with them via email about when I leave. Today (Saturday, August 10th), the person handling the paperwork claims that she thought I was leaving on a different date. I get the confusion. Our flight leaves the 12th, which I communicated. She was aware of that date. I also communicated yesterday that we leave the day before the flight. We as a family are leaving the day before on the 11th (the reason being so we can make our flight on time which flies out of Chicago). The paperwork arrives on the 12th, so no matter what, the 12th is too late. It’s not timely. All of this should have been arranged so that we had the paperwork before the day of our flight, not the same day as our flight.
What I have learned is make sure if you fly out of the country with pets, to fly later in the week before the weekend so paperwork doesn’t get tied up.
Why it matters: Not having the correct paperwork to enter the country with a pet means several things including that your pets can be euthanized if you try to enter a country without the correct paperwork.
I can’t do anything about it except cancel my flight until I get the paperwork and I have no idea if I can get a flight that falls within the very short timeframe of the validity of this paperwork. The timeframe for the paperwork to be valid is 10 days from the vet visit to your pets’ arrival in the country. Some countries won’t even allow you to do lay overs with your pet, so I’m also limited to a certain flight path, also, there are no direct flights to Oslo from the U.S.
Mistakes happen, but this is costly. It was around $720 to get this paperwork done which is completely useless now.
I have to call my airline and rebook my pets for a different date. Flights only allow so many pets in the cabin depending on how many passengers have added their own pets several weeks ago to their itinerary like I did.
In addition to that, I now have to spend more time contacting Norwegian Authorities to tell them to expect me and the pets on a different date. It’s Saturday today. There isn’t anyone in Norway to contact until Monday. By the time I get a flight, I might have to pay $720 again to find another vet to help me do the paperwork if this paperwork expires before I get a flight, which it will.
We are a family of 4 with two pets. Two of my kids start school in Norway the following week. Now that may have to be postponed. Arlington should make this situation right by refunding my $720 if I can’t resolve this situation on my own.
Edit: I reached out to FedEx right away by driving to the local office on Roll Ave, as the 1-800 number was only offering generalized options. The folks there recommended that I put a hold on the package of paperwork so that it would come straight to their location after arriving from Memphis on Monday morning. They gave me the phone number of a person to contact at that location early Monday and offered to meet me outside with the documentation as soon as it arrived, even if it was before their opening hours. I was super grateful for them going above and beyond for us. They indeed met me Monday morning at 8:30 am, a half hour before they officially opened and got my paperwork to me. Because of FedEx’s help, we were able to drive to Chicago in time to get through the TSA and catch our flight before it took off around 3:45 pm that afternoon. I’m writing this here in case someone else runs into a similar situation and needs to come up with creative ways to solve the issue.

Worst customer service ever. Every time (and I mean it, every single time) you call no one picks up the phone, no matter how many times you call. If you walk-in, they don't have attention without an appointment. They have no way to schedule appointments online.
In short, you can only get your dog treated if you make a appointment, but you can't make a phone appointment because they never pick up the phone. Meaning that you have to go in-person just to make an appointment, because they won't see your pet as a walk-in.

$350 visit isn't cheap but Affordability should not equal Arrogance.
Answering service was rude. Most importantly, the Vet(Stacy Shore) was condescending and dismissive of the information I shared about my dog. "That's why I get paid the big dollars" Status means never mean you shouldn't listen. I hear Bob is wonderful but only does puppy.
Thank you to the 2 polite engagements only way out overall service was poor.

I brought my new cat Minnie in for her first wellness exam, and I can’t recommend this clinic enough! Dr. Shore was wonderful and very helpful at keeping Minnie calm throughout her exam. She’s a very shy cat who gets very scared in new surroundings. Their tech staff were wonderful too. They are also very reasonably priced and they don’t try to upsell you on unnecessary tests.

My Bichon Willow was almost 7 months old and had all 3 parvo vaccines but somehow got breakthrough parvo even though we don't go anywhere. I guess she got it from our yard. This Hospital by the Grace of God saved our Baby, she was very, very sick, honestly we didn't think she would make it, but with God's help guiding the wonderful staff at Arlington she is still with us.
The Staff who took care of our little girl was Dr. Dale Miller, Justine, Rachael, Zach, Jacob,Cheyenne and Victoria. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a Vet for their Furbabies, they are Wonderful and genuinely care for Your Furbaby and the Furbabies parents.

Good vet, and they are accepting new patients. They've always been nice and helpful to my dog but they are a large vet and sometimes things can get lost in the shuffle so it's worthwhile to pay attention and keep track of what they've told you on previous visists.

Our dog has an incredibly swollen ear flap. We called this vet who is the only one we have seen since recently moving. They would not see her until Friday. We have comforted her the best ways we knew how waiting for the appointment. They told us it would be $300 extra to call and say it was an emergency on Thursday. We thought that was unusual but we called today (Thursday) and then they said we couldn’t be seen. So we were prepared to wait until our appointment. Then we got a call to confirm our appointment at an entirely different location. We sent a text explaining which location(South) we had made our appointment for. We got a voicemail saying our appointment was not at the location where we made the appointment. The same person did call back and said we should have known that the south location does not do things like we would need. How were we supposed to know that information? We are new to the area. No one had told us anything about any of this. Driving 45 minutes one way is a heavy burden. My husband is an amputee and it is painful for him to drive currently. (A recent injury to his stump) I cannot drive because of my eyesight. So this was not merely inconvenient. This literally would be very painful. When my husband “called out” the mistakes that were made here (lack of information, lack of clarity) Pand and further said he felt as if she didn’t care, she hung up on him!!!!!! We are astounded. We have a dog who has been needlessly hurting waiting for this appointment and a vet’s office who simply does not care about her or us. If you are looking for compassion, patient accommodations or even respect, please go elsewhere. I am so shocked I am still crying. This was all so unnecessary.
NEW INFO
We were contacted later by an extremely nice and polite staff person who gave us an appointment near us. Indeed we were going to edit our review to reflect that. However this morning another person called and told us they would no longer see our dogs again because we wrote a negative review! BEWARE of this Our dog suffered for an entire work week and because we warned others about this, the appointment THEY made for us is cancelled. We are not even allowed to be patients because of our opinion. Any business who offers a resolution and then does not honor it is already suspect. One that makes a pet suffer longer because of a review is horrific. One that advertises their passion for caring and does not care is something to consider when choosing a vet. We had an opinion and because of that opinion and warning to others, even the resolution that was offered was taken away. We love our dog and we just wanted her to be helped. We trusted the wrong people to help her. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS LACK Of CARING FOR YOUR PETS!

We had our 6 year old beagle mix sudden develope cancer. We started off at Royer in Worthington Indiana and after a 2 day stay there we was told that there nothing we could do for him. The next morning we woke up and decided it was time to put our beloved dog to sleep. We called every single vet in Bloomington and not a single one was welling to help us during this difficult time. We finally was able to get in touch with Arlington heights north. The staff was extremely friendly and compassionate and offered to get us seen within the hour. We arrived at the clinic and was lead into their comfort room. The vet was fast to come in and do a quick exam and told us it was in his best interest to move forward with put him to sleep. The lady vet (can't recall her name) was so professional and compassionate. We are beyond thankful for Arlington Heights Veterinary.
