I purchased a Smith Brothers couch, chair with ottoman and recliner. The couch is never used so no issues. The recliner is not holding up well but still usable. The chair is so broken down (I am not a big person) that it is no longer usable. I tried stuffing blankets or towels under the broken down side but it did not help. I left a message with Smith Brothers as the store I made the purchase went out of business. They did not even have the courtesy to call me back. I did hear from a Smith Brothers dealer one hour from my house. They ask that I send them pics and they would get back to me. I sent the photos over 3 weeks ago with no response. Do not buy Smith Brothers furniture. Very expensive and very poor quality.
I heard back from Smith Brothers and was told to file a concern through the website contact us. I did that a week ago and no response.

Wow over priced. I had an incredible Smith Brothers couch for 15 years and it was so well made. I just bought a new one for $7000 and the cushions are already smashed and the pillows aren’t holding up even like Home Goods. I would never spend that kind of money on another one. So disappointing. And their warranty doesn’t cover the cushions. I wonder why??

We love the look of our new sofa, but the cushions that were provided are way too firm, which is not what we ordered.
The manufacturer suggested we walk on the cushions to make them softer. I’ve never heard such a ridiculous thing before.
The order was done wrong and they should be making it right
Our sofa was purchased from Keck furniture in Watertown Wisconsin. They did what they could help us. Smith Brothers is not willing to help us.

We finished our basement and purchased a sectional back in 2021 and waited several months for it to come in due to the Covid backups. Already owning living room furniture and very satisfied with Smith Brothers quality, we decided to purchase their product again.
Picked out a nice sectional and ottoman and went with the down feather cushion option. Initially started to see some feathers and kept getting poked with sharp ends of the feathers. Thought it just needed to settle in and didn’t think it would be an issue.
Well it only got worse and every seat cushion and back pillow is shedding and poking feathers. Initially reached out to Smith Bros in May 2024 and they said contact our local dealer. Went to purchase something else from the dealer this past weekend and mentioned it and shared pics and they contacted Smith Bros.
Smith Bros said it is out of warranty and we could purchase new down cushions if we wanted. I’m working with the local dealer now on options so we can use the sectional comfortably and I’m not picking up feathers every day. Thankful the dealer wants to correct the situation where as Smith Bros doesn’t care at all.
I understand we are outside of the 1 year warranty, but all of the pillows and seats have completely failed and this company will not stand behind their product.
Stay away from anything down filled this company offers. It is not worth the additional cost and frustration over the foam.

This is not quality furniture as advertised. Extremely high priced for the poor quality and they do not stand behind their faulty products. I had my sectional taken back only to have them say that’s normal for separate pieces. I see low quality furniture that lines up and does not look like this. They are also skimpy on their fabric that they charge bookoos for! . After 2 years the mechanics are squeaking and creaking. It’s only my husband and I and this was supposed to be our last furniture we would buy. And we were happy to pay for QUALITY. That is not what we got.
Update. After this review, Smiths brothers contacted the furniture store and asked to have the chance to fix it as it was “surprisingly and thankfully “ still under warranty. They replaced all mechanics, reworked the stuffing in the backs and lined everything up somehow. It looks better now than when i recieved it brand new. I am very thankful for their attention and willingness to make things right.

We are disappointed with our new sofa and loveseat. It was custom made and we thought would be like the display model at the authorized dealer store, but it is different. When sitting on the middle cushion of the sofa it drops down 1-2 inches (we aren’t large people). If you sit where the cushions meet, you tip toward the person sitting next to you. It feels odd and uncomfortable. We have never experienced this with any sofa we’ve ever had. It’s comfortable if you sit on the ends and that’s about it. Also, if you have something in your back pocket, the imprint of it is left in the sofa material and stays there until you sit down again or smooth it with your hand. Perhaps it’s the material we selected but then maybe it should not have been in the selection to choose from. The loveseat acts similarly. And finally, the throw pillows that come with it are ridiculous, they are huge and hard. Not useful. We paid a lot of money and were happy to choose furniture made in the USA but are quite disappointed.
A video was sent to the manufacturer and they said the furniture is functioning as it should. To make it feel somewhat more evenly supportive we purchased a long slim foam pillow to place underneath the cushions.
I have it reviewed at two stars because it appears structurally well made and we do like the style, but, we bought it to sit on and be comfortable.

I bought a Smith glider/recliner 5 years ago.
The mechanism has broken 5 or 6 times! It just broke again and now the furniture store where I purchased it is out of business. I will never buy a Smith Brothers product again!
Stay away from this company. Their products are garbage and they don’t care.
P .S. Nobody has ever sat in this chair who weighs over 200 lbs.

Smith Brother's is a true, quality product. Nothing sits quite like a Smith Brothers, sofa. Nothing but Smith Brothers will be going to my living room from now on, although it will probably be the last couch I buy, it's that well-built!

Purchased a Smith Brothers sectional 15 years ago and it has been a great investment. It wasnt cheap but worth every penny. The cushions, backs and bottoms, continue to hold their shape, the material still looks great with no appreciable signs of wear or breakdown. We had a family of 5, with dogs, and this piece has sen alot of use. My son now owns the house and I left the sectional for him. Every time I visit ai see my grandson jumping, flipping or doing something that you would not considerable normal use. The sectional takes it all.
We did not buy this off the showroom floor. We carefully selected the material and understood which cushions we were getring and how they were made. From my own personal experience I believe the key to being happy with your purchase starts with making an informed buying decision.
Heading out today to buy a mew Smith Brothers sectional for my new house.

Purchased a sofa that was expensive 6 months ago. The cushions are already sagging. Contacted the store that it was bought and they contacted the company. It seems they make different grades of cushions used in the seat cushions. So to get the better cushions it would cost $350 more .This was again, expensive. Bad customer service. We are senior citizens and aren’t jumping up and down on sofa. Don’t buy from this company.?

Purchased a leather Smith Brothers chair and after two years, the leather has faded noticeably. They were unwilling to help or offer any solutions. Don't be fooled by the high sticker price, this is not quality furniture.

Purchase with caution:
After my husband died, I ordered a sofa from Smith Brothers of Berne Inc through an authorized dealer. The dealer associate misquoted the price two times and then finally corrected the amount- after I contacted the owner. Additionally, the authorized dealer promised me that the sofa would be delivered before the holidays 2023. It wasn't. I waited at least another 6 weeks and then the sofa arrived with a spring that had not been adjusted correctly. I reached out to the dealer- they are getting ready to go out of business and retire- and they refused to come out until the sofa was 100% paid for. I had to put down a 50% deposit. They also changed the delivery dates and did not want to delivery after my work day- 3pm. Finally, they refused to come out even after I had paid for the sofa. I had another company take a look at it and they indicated that the spring had been improperly adjusted and unless I wanted to take the entire sofa apart there was nothing I could do about it. Overall a very disappointing experience.
