Contacted these guys about something on their website and they were just totally rude and unhelpful and made me feel like it would be a bad decision to shop with them. Saw positive things around the net but soemthing must have changed I just don't know

For background, I've spent about $30,000 with this store in the last three years, and had an additional $12,000 on pre-order before today. I may not be their biggest customer, but I'm also not a window shopper.Had an issue with the newest item I received. Reached out seeking assistance on the issue (missing part on a new item). Since I purchased from this hobby store that serves as a Lionel dealer, this seemed reasonable to me. They have a relationship with Lionel as a dealer, while I'm a random person.All that was needed was Mr. Muffins reaching out to Lionel saying, "Hey, part was missing, please drop ship a replacement."Instead, got an email back telling me to contact Lionel on my own. I don't think it was even that which bothered me, it was the snark and flippant attitude that was the worst. Item purchased was over $2,600 shipped, and I get a two sentence "not our problem."So I responded back expressing a little dismay, and I get back, "Hey, we didn't build or package it." Yeah, I know, you just sold it to me and get the benefit of making the markup as the dealer.The final straw, a half-hearted apology for the prior attitude. A good start. But it's followed up with the explanation that, "This is just a hobby for me, not my life's work." Buddy, the minute people started spending tens of thousands of dollars with you that they earned through THEIR life's work, this became more than a hobby. I work hard for my money, I don't need to spend it with folks who will just laugh off issues and excuse their own lack of care with a "this doesn't even really matter" attitude.In reply to the seller's continued poor response- I have received 4 prior items that were BROKEN and reached out for repair parts previously. These he rectified, which makes this all the more baffling. Two broken wheel trucks, a broken pickup roller, and a missing/bent detail part. In each case, a quick message to Lionel or an offer for exchange and all was fixed.In this case, the seller seems to have a problem that there was a difference in terminology, something easily rectified with a reply of "Not sure we're on the same page regarding what's missing." Nevertheless, the missing parts are items that are specifically listed as a feature of this item and are not present. Rather than assist, since he sold the item and didn't take time to look inside the package before shipping, he told me pound sand and take it up with the manufacturer.I don't expect him to "kneel to my every wish," I expect him to stand behind what he sells and rectify issues with the product he sells. We're talking about a repair part or a simple email to the manufacturer as the retailer and point of contact. That's a minimum expectation for a retailer. The fact these guys think that's going "above and beyond" tells me all I need to know about their farcical business practices. And the fact they feel free to call customers names when things go south speaks to their general lack of character.

I'd give 0 stars if we could. This is the third time we have placed an order with these people, while receiving nothing! We wait patiently and finally when inquiring about our order we are told "oh we cancelled your order, we can't find the item" I will NEVER order from this outfit again. There are excellent MTH dealers out there but I definitely don't recommend this one.

I love my B&O hopper cars. The shipment was fast, and communication was good. Prices are competitive also. Hope to do business again!

One of the biggest train displays in the Midwest worth a travel plan if you're in the area people travel up to 2 hours away to come see this. Only thing it is open on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. make sure you call ahead and make sure it's going to be open this is a non-profit business

Excellent selection. Custom runs with cool roadnames and paint schemes. An awesome operating layout. Great, easy to navigate website and checkout process. Fast shipping. Fair prices and an outstanding email newsletter where Mr. Muffin takes the trains out of the box and takes photos of every single one so you can see them. World-class customer service. I buy all my new Lionel and MTH from Mr. Muffin's Train Shop. You should, too.
