Only downside is that there are less self car items than most other DT in the area, but where it lacks in self care it makes up with useful home organizers and tools. Love the assortment of kitchen accessories and tools as well.”
“I've been to all the dollar general's in my area. The one in Beach Park, Zion, Winthrop harbor, this one is the best stocked with lots of options also it's one of the only stores that doesn't have a lot of boxes in your way.”

“Many items available at $1.25. This is a must stop especially at Christmas time for gift wrapping supplies including gift boxes. Ornaments for the tree or decor, and other harder to find products.
Only drawback is a shortage of help at checkout. Store usually crowded during weekdays. Other handy household items available all year long.”

“I go here quite often since it is close to where I live. Today there was a container in the aisle and I scratched my leg on it. I had the clerk look at it to see if it was bleeding because I am on blood thinners and diabetic. He didn't see any blood but by the time I got home it was bleeding pretty good .I went back and showed the guy my bandages and bought some large bandages. He didn't seem concerned about the location of the container as it was a safety issue. I'll continue to go there but I wish it was less congested and the employees were trained better on customer safety.”
“amily Dollar is a nice small store to go in and out to get things that you need.The location has had good service in the times that I have visited and have always had what I was looking for. It is pretty convenient being a smaller store to visit this store. If you are looking for a big variety of a certain product then you want to go elsewhere but generally there are a few different brands of each item to choose from.They do have a small alcohol selection as well. I look at this place like a small grocery store and small Walmart/Target in one place.”
“I worked here for nearly a year and recently moved on but I continue to shop here. I loved my coworkers and I had the absolute Best manager ever. Everyone who works there has something to offer and is a good asset!! But too many times actually almost every day we would get terrible, entitled, disrespectful customers that would contribute to making our jobs harder. But aside from that… This store is probably the best Dollar General in Waukegan! I still get greeted when I shop and I’m able to have a good laugh and get what I need.”

“I often go to dollar General on Sheridan Road in Kenosha, WI. Last Friday July 5th, 2024, I stopped for a few items. The salesclerk, Gejuan assisted me. He not only helped me locate my items, but he was pleasant, and had a bubbly can-do attitude. You have a winner with that young man! Give him a raise!”

“I live uptown, but refuse to shop at that location. This store was like a breath of fresh air compared to the 22nd. ST. Location. The employee was extremely helpful and friendly and even appologized on behalf of the company when I mentioned the horrible treatment I received several days ago at the uptown location. The store was clean and organized. The displays were put together and best of all there weren't empty shelves and unopened boxes all over the store. It was worth the drive across town.”

“ESMERELDA THE STORE MANAGER is a RABID RACIST.She loves to harass and racially profile innocent black people and accuse them of theft.She did that to me today and thank God a another black woman told her that I didn't steal anything!!!! She never apologized and I'm never coming back except for my attorney to drop off the lawsuit papers against her and Family Dollar. Black people don't shop here at all!!! “I came to this store this evening because it was on the way back home and I needed to get a few things. First thing I noticed was that this store was much more well-kept and organized than the other one in my area. While I was in there, there was a rude customer that had quite the mouth on her, so much so that my husband actually took my little children to the other end of the store. There were two workers there that I saw, Taylor the cashier and an employee named Jebriea who was on the receiving end of the foul mouthed customer. I wanted to say that I was so impressed by the absolute professionalism of this lady. I would never had been able to handle myself with such control as she did.
We were able to find everything we needed, and when we checked out the employee apologized for the customers behavior! They were amazing. We got to the dollar store at least 2 times a week, but because of this experience with this particular store, we will be coming exclusively to this store from now on. (Did I mention how CLEAN it was compared to the other one???)
All in all, I recommend this store to anyone who cares to read my review. And a shout out to whoever hired the employees..... You picked some good ones.”
