Dr. Lucas is the primary doctor for my pup. She’s always highly attentive and caring. My pup contracted heartworm shortly after we adopted her, and the entire staff at Winnetka Animal Hospital was amazing throughout her treatment. My girl is pretty anxious at vet visits, but they always do whatever is needed to keep her calm during examinations, answered all my questions about her heartworm treatment, and truly treat her like their own beloved pet.

Winnetka Animal Hospital has taken amazing care of my dogs (Lucy and Arya) since 2020. The staff is always attentive, professional, and welcoming. As a whole, Winnetka Animal Hospital is highly skilled and offers comprehensive services. I have live with/owned dogs for over 50 years. Consequently, I have used over 14 vet practices.. I have come to the conclusion - local vets give personal touch. Winntka Animal Hospital fits the bill.. This Is a small general practice. They aren't going to rush you in/out. They will explain in non medical jargon while not coddling me. As I said previously, I am a longtime dog owner. The vets value my observations of my dog. With comprehensive care comes limited appointments that fill up quickly. If the vet recommends going to and Emergency Vet or specialist, they know the vets (sometimes personally) and know you will get good service. Their medical director Dr. Hernandez is very knowledgeable and can manage the "helicopter " mom that I sometimes become. The other vets there are excellent in their own way. You have got to see Dr. Kramer if you want a real straight shooter. So calling, I have to remember, I may have to wait and I need to have my requests short and to the point. I want my dog seen by a vet and don't need to give my pet's life story to the receptionist (because I could). I can hear the phones ringing in the background. I would rather have that then a vet practice that is busy than one that has same day appointments all the time and gives substandard or corporate care. The vets are excellent and in high demand - just what you and your pets need.

I second what others have said about customer service. At least one woman who works at the front desk acts as if it's a total imposition anytime you call. She gives unnecessary attitude over the phone when I called just to follow up on a missed call from their office. There are no pleasantries, and I was left with a feeling of unwelcomeness in their practice. We're only going here because it's very convenient for us, but steer clear if you have other good options. Two thumbs down.

I had a sad experience at the end of my cat's life. Due to Covid, I was not allowed to be with him when he was euthanized. The vet would not talk to me or tell me how he was at the end of his life, was he calm, etc. It was a heartbreaking time for me, as he was my only companion during quarantine. It makes me sad to think of it.

Take your cats elsewhere, the tech scruffed mine multiple times for absolutely no reason (and the vet, while lovely, did not speak up). I don't understand the propensity toward violence, especially when animals are involved. I called two other veterinary practices in the area and they were appalled as scruffing is considered outdated practice in the industry and many vets and techs take an oath not to do it. They also added that had it been absolutely necessary (it wasn't, my cat is gentle and has never bit or shown aggression toward anyone) , they should have used a towel. The wonderful Dr. Kurt Miller would be disgusted as this tech is making a mockery of his legacy.

I have nothing but positive experiences here. It has been easy to schedule appointments and the staff have been great to work with. I actually followed Dr. Hernandez here from his last hospital. Professional, knowledgeable vet and my French Bulldog loves him.

Absolutely amazing hospital. I trust them completely with my dog's health. We go to Dr Gerardo Hernández for years and he has been a God sent to us. Very professional and caring. Our dog is a rescue and he knows how to adjust to her anti social behavior and her super sensitive stomach. He literally saved her several times. And the entire staff is professional and caring. They treat your pets as if they are their own! I highly recommend this place for your furry babies

The technicians were rough with our dogs and seemed to lack training in general. When they brought them into the building for their appointment they were violently pulling on their leashes/necks. You're not allowed to be inside with them and I wonder how they handle animals when owners aren't observing. We also had a rather bad experience with the vet. Our dog's been walking with a limp and instead of looking into it she prescribed pain meds and tried to finish as quickly as she could. I also found the admin staff to be rude and unprofessional.

Dr. Sherman has taken care of 2 of our dogs for the past 14 years, and she has provided exceptional care. I honestly can't imagine a more professional, thorough, responsive and empathetic veterinarian. She understands the important role that dogs play in people's lives, and any animal that she treats receives the benefit of her experience, kindness, and skills. I will absolutely continue to take any dog that we have to Winnetka Animal Hospital and Dr. Sherman, and I would recommend Winnetka Animal Hospital and Dr. Sherman to anyone looking for a caring and skilled veterinarian.

We called Winnetka Animal Hospital as our 2 year old Boston terrier had a strange looking irritation on the side of her mouth. Dr Sherman saw her early the next morning and diagnosed her right away. She called us later in the day to see how our pup was doing. Everyone at Winnetka Anima Hospital is so responsive and caring. We've been with them for years and I have recommended them to friends and clients !
