“I go to car related events .This place has improved with the world of wheels over the years. I still miss the lowrider hopping contest they used to have when it was at Mccormick Place. Maybe one day they'll bring that back”

“This place offers an elevated seafood dining experience with superior ingredients, precise execution, and classic presentation. From the moment you step inside, you are greeted by a classy and warm atmosphere, with stylish furnishing and subtle nautical touches that evoke coastal elegance. The attention to detail is evident in every aspect, from the lighting carefully highlighting each dish to the backlit menus for easy viewing in the lower light. The scrupulous attention to every aspect of the meal poured over to the flavors and food as well. The meticulous preparation ensured that every dish was beautifully presented, showcasing the freshness and quality of the seafood, making it the ideal place for a romantic dinner or a special celebration with friends and family.? What I Tasted: The raw Yellowfin Tuna appetizer was incredibly fresh, complemented perfectly by creamy avocado and an order of half dozen plump and just enough grinny west coast oysters. For the main course, the buttery and succulent Chilean sea bass was cooked to perfection, nestled on a bed of risotto with a ting of sweet sauce that enhanced its richness. Dessert was a delightful classic crème brûlée, providing a sweet ending to a fantastic dining experience.? Standout Feature: Turlucks excels in the little details that make a big impact. From curated flavor combinations to attentive service and exquisite décor, every aspect of the dining experience is carefully crafted. Things you never would think of, and I never seen before, like the De la paix à la résistance, innovative backlit menus and thoughtfully designed lighting provide ease of viewing in lower light (or older eyes) and most of all elevate the atmosphere and enhance the overall enjoyment of the meal.⚠️ What Was Mid: While Turlucks shines in its seafood offerings, traditional steak and sides are good but may not always meet the same high standard. For the ultimate dining experience, I recommend sticking to their seafood specialties.”

“One of my most favorite candy shops in America. Something about their dark chocolate peanut butter buckets makes me always go back and get more. So many truffle flavors to choose from as well.”

“Excellent services. Great food. One draw back the speaker system was set so loud , you could not enjoy the Christmas event. For that reason, I would not have them host any of my events.”

“We loved working with Michelle! We are introverted folks and we felt extremely comfortable with her. We hired her for engagement photos and wedding photos. She was very responsive in all communication. It is clear that she has a lot of experience in the field and she truly wanted to capture us, not some cookie cutter wedding version. The photos were absolutely beautiful! I really appreciated that she focused on what we wanted, and was able to deal with family and the wedding party well. She brought great energy on the morning of the wedding- both energizing and calming. We would totally hire her again for any photography needs!”

“A must see! Give yourself plenty of time to see this museum. Great displays telling the Holocaust stories. They do have guides to walk you through the displays. We haven't used them, but I'd recommend using them your first time through. I've been here 2 times and haven't taken enough time to see all in detail. Make sure you plan to see the 3D Holocaust survivor exhibit. It's a hologram of a survivor sitting on a chair telling their story. You can ask questions, and they answer. Very cool. They have a VR experience. I'd recommend you go to that. However, the technology needs upgrading. It's worth going to. Overall, highly recommend you visit and great for young adults to understand what really happened. Learn from history, so this never happens again.”

“Great space. We had our 9 year old's bday party here. All the staff were super polite, helpful and had lots of patience with the kids. The upstairs private space was totally worth it!”

“They have activities and events for the family throughout the year. We went to the flannel and flapjacks and had a great time. For a very reasonable fee, we were served all you can eat breakfast, there was live music and a Santa, arts and crafts, and even a photo station to capture the experience. Even mimosas were unlimited. Nice place to mingle socially and enjoy family time.”

“Good place to stay if you think about proximity to tge airport, convention centre, surrounded by places to shop and have fun. However, i found that it is overpriced and theIn-room dinning service was underwhelming. Was shocked when housekeeping opened the door without knocking and didn't offer an apology 3 hours before checkout.”

“An unassuming wedding venue from the street but once you walk in you realize this is a prime event space thoughtfully renovated with modern amenities. The event room has 2 walls of windows providing fantastic views and the outdoor covered patio is something to behold. There are a ton of spots to take your intimate wedding photos at including water, bridges, weeping willows and manicured gardens. I highly recommend checking this place out for your wedding or important event reception.”

“I have attended a of couple events at the OLC. Great facility for anything from a small board meeting to a seminar. Good WiFi in the auditoriums and the ergonomic chairs for the attendees are so much better than typical chairs at hotels for a session that lasts hours.Nice modern, professional space with helpful AV staff and HD livestreaming options for attendees an presenters.”

“A nice variety of expertly cooked seafood at a reasonable price. We knew this was going to be a good experience when the Mules Frites (mussels & fries) appetizer came out in a pile easily big enough for 3 or 4, served in a savory jus suitable for complimentary sourdough bread dunking. These chefs know how to prepare fish. You ask for rare salmon, and you get salmon the way it was meant to be eaten. The encrusted walleye and pine nut & sage trout were also skillfully prepared with sides to complement: mystifyingly flavorful garlic spinach for the walleye, still-crunchy steamed broccoli for the trout, and satisfying mashed potatoes for all. The biggest compliment (completing my homonym usage trifecta) I can give is that I will definitely be back to try more (even turf!), bringing friends and family.”

“I am such a fan of the Cook County Forest Preserves . And one reason I love them is that there's always something new to find and explore! Every time I visit I fall in love again.Today I visited the Volunteer Resource Center (VRC) near Edgebrook Woods. They held a program for Black History Month; I really want to support this type of cultural programming within the FPCC system, and it's an added bonus that it sounded interesting. The VRC is right near the Edgebrook Golf Course--the same entrance is for both. But unless you've been to an event here or go to the golf course, you're unlikely to known this was here. It's a really great event space which the FPCC rents out for various events. There's a different rate for county residents versus non-residents, and the cost differs for Monday-Thursday and Friday-Sunday dates. However, the rates seem really reasonable to me. There's a main room which is especially lovely; there's a large fireplace, high ceilings, and a lot of space--this room can hold 100 people. The classroom is much smaller and can accommodate up to 40. Both those spaces can be rented independently of one another, and I think you can rent portions of the golf course as well? All the information is on the webpage. The main room has a kitchen space as well so you can work with a caterer for your event. I wish I had an event for which I could use this space; I'll bet it's especially beautiful in the spring and summer. There are picnic tables just outside the indoor facility, and parking is plentiful as well.”

“This is a cool spot in Highwood. Nothing really stands out as exceptional, but everything was pretty good.I got the rueban sandwich because we were there on St Patrick's Day. It was ok. The plain French fries were very average, but the truffle fries were much better. The calamari was good, but the other appetizers were not so much. The goat cheese was bland and the crab cakes were small and mushy.I had an alcohol free cocktail and it was good, but not $9 good. The cheeseburger and chicken sandwich were both loved by our dining partners. The service was pretty slow, but I'm sure they were under staffed since it was a holiday weekend.”

“This is an amazing space to host an event space for birthday party, family dinner, and or small reception. The manager and owner are very responsive and gives you much freedom to decorate and celebrate. Our event was such a success and owe it to this space and all its amenities..”

“A park and a beach is along the lake. Gillson Park is the best thing about Wilmette, and beats any of those overcrowded ones farther south. If you want to actually be able to walk on a beach and not feel crowded, then head up a ways. Be careful about where you park because you can find places for free. There's also plenty of green space for athletic fields. Gillson is a big park, and that makes it feel not as crowded. It has several different parts. There's the actual park with the grass and trees. It's often very quiet here. Where's all the people? At the beach. This beach is still less crowded than any of the Chicago beaches full of both locals and tourists. It has a nice little play area. The sand is pretty clear of debris for the most part. Also at this park is a big a** marina. There's lots of boats, and there's also a club you can join if you can pay up. However you spend time here, just be careful about parking or it may be costly. It has pay lots close to the beach but you can find free parking on the residential streets. They have certain places where you can't park though, so pay attention to signs and whatever.”

“One of the standout features a drop off area and a good amount of parking, which made it incredibly convenient to access. The rink itself is not only well-maintained but also spotlessly clean, providing a pristine environment for ice skating enthusiasts. What truly sets this place apart is the picturesque drive to the rink; the scenic route leading to it adds a touch of beauty and serenity to the overall experience. Whether you're a seasoned skater or a novice looking for a fun outing, this ice rink with its parking convenience, cleanliness, and scenic drive is an absolute gem that I highly recommend.”

“We were here a couple of years ago and planning on going hopefully this weekend (I'm from Chicago but live overseas for work). The food was amazing and the atmosphere, music, dancing was a lot of fun and not where you felt you were being picked up or come on to all the time...it was a nice place. Can't wait to go again.”
