This store advertised a napkin ring online with a picture of a box of 4 napkin rings and with a written description of the napkin rings (plural). I ordered what I thought was 3 sets of 4 and was shocked when only 1 box arrived with 3 rings and an empty slot where the fourth should be. When I called to find out what happened they eagerly offered to sell me 9 additional rings to get me to the 12 I was expecting. They were not willing to reimburse their shipping to me nor my cost to return ship to them although their representative acknowledged the mistaken item description was their fault! Disappointing and concerning business practice. I wouldn't order from them again.

I went to material possessions looking for the perfect placemats and found that and so much more! I don't know where they find such beautiful things! Everything I looked at was cooler than the next! Their dishware collection was one of the best I have ever seen. I am definitely going to tell all my friends to register at material possessions when they become engaged!

Came in to buy a birthday gift for a friend & ended up buying a beautiful pair of earrings for myself as well! The sales person was so friendly & helpful! This store has gorgeous jewelry as well as items for the home!

I just got married and registered at Material Possessions. After checking out all the different department stores; I felt like I saw the same stuff over and over. Material had all the basics plus cool stuff from individual artists. I brought in some of my Grandma's china that I had inherited and we came up with a really unique more modern setting. Laurie helped me register and made the overwhelming process easier because she was patient and not pushy. I was always excited to see a new gift arrive all so pretty! I also cheated a lot and loved to check my online registry to see what goodies were headed my way! I think they have nice products.

This store is different every time I go in. Sometimes I just walk through to get inspired. The ladies that work there always say hello. They have helped me pick out gifts that I am still getting compliments about!!! It has become my go to one-stop-shop. My gifts are wrapped beautifully and ready to deliver.

This is based on my recent visit to Material Possessions.. The merchandise carried is of high quality and mostly unique. Over the years, I have always enjoyed shopping here for that unique home item or hostess/wedding gift. My last visit I stopped to browse as I had time to kill before picking up the kids.. I was very disappointed with the way I was ignored the entire time I was in store, no greeting of any kind @ one point I walked by counter the two employees chatting actually seemed annoyed I was walking by as they stopped their conversation but still didn't acknowledge me or ask if they could be of assistance? Very rude.. I continued around store just to see if anyone would ask if they could help, never happened.. I will not be back

The sales help at this store go the extra mile to make sure you get exactly what you want. They feature dishes, flatware and glasses you won't find anywhere else in Chicago. Macy's, Bloomingdales and other housewares stores do not have their merchandise.
