This is our "go to" wine store in downtown Winnetka. Totally puzzled by negative reviews about feeling not welcomed by the owner. She is very nice lady who is always helpful and cheerful. Oh, and her dog Mick is so adorable and very large too! Very good wine selection, well curated. As an added bonus, we started new tradition: stopping by Good Grapes after dinner to buy and open a good bottle of wine with F&F. You can sit right there in the store at one of the few tables. It is really cozy neighborhood place, highly recommend to check it out.

This is such a lovely place where you can get a bottle of wine and drink right in the store. They have a table and chairs for a small group to sit down. The owner is very hospitable. She has a lovely old dog who is very friendly to the customers. Great selection of wines. Nice music playing in the store too.

I did not feel welcome by the owner when I went into the shop to buy a gift, felt like a burden to her.

I tried to purchase from the store 3 times but on the first two occasions the store was open but no one was there to complete my transaction. The third time I was made to feel unwelcome. It’s too bad, I would have loved to support a local business.

I have been shopping at this store since it opened. Theresa has always been accommodating, very pleasant, and so very knowledgeable about wines. I will tell her my dinner plans and my price point for a wine. Each and every time she recommends spot on wines. She has a loyal following in the community. Moreover, she gives back in a myriad of ways. Her business is an asset to the community.

Theresa has excellent taste in wine and a great range to choose from - cost friendly and also high end. Rare finds and fan favorites (but not generic). Theresa is very helpful - she knows what she's talking about and is very attentive! We love the Wine Club and Friday Music! Good Grapes is a great local business - love going in there and so lucky to have this local gem in Winnetka!

While visiting family they suggested a visit to this business, which advertised "Fridays · Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend · 7pm - 9pm Join us for Fab Friday Live Outdoor Music! Sing or dance to songs that you know every word while enjoying an adult beverage and charcuterie." Upon arrival, we, a party of 5, joined two small tables together outdoors. I went into the shop and initially selected 1 bottle of wine, whilst her very large dog barked. She told me there was a $30 minimum, so I selected another bottle of wine. I asked if there was a bottle of the same wine that had been chilled and she pulled out a bottle from the bottom of the cooler. The label was smudged, worn, and blackened on the edges. I questioned the appearance of the bottle and she said it happens when stacking wine in the cooler. When I began to pay, she said the minimum was actually $60, since we were seated in 5 chairs surrounding 2 small tables. So i would have to buy more wine, $30 more, in order for my party of 5 to stay. It is my opinion that this proprietor is an extraordinarily poor hostess, she's rude at minute one. She should also more clearly explain her policies when advertising such events and apply them equitably. I will not return.

I am not the kind of person to leave reviews; however, it has been on my mind. After checking a recent Yelp review, my observation from last night turns out to be true, and the owner's response to the review is ill-written. I need to step in. I was having a lovely dinner outside next to good grape. I was observing a one-person musician that was playing, and as I was watching, I noticed the owner came out to try and turn away a family because they had a dog. (Even though I am well aware that the owner has a dog in the wine shop.) I soon realized one of the patrons was deaf, and it was his service dog. Instead of the owner being accommodating, to my surprise, the owner still persistently told them to take the service dog away. I was appalled by her behavior, and I can tell the deaf patron was very uncomfortable with her interaction. The owner went back inside after this. The family eventually left, shaken up by this. (According to the owner's response in the review, apparently the family did try to order wine, but it looks like she indirectly continued to deny them services by imposing a table fee Was she expecting them to stand up the whole time? It sounds like a very poor business model based on her description.) After locating the recent review, she had the opportunity to respond and clarify the situation, but instead, she chose to ignore her wrongdoing and pivot her focus to being petty and gossiping with other patrons, which even further confirmed her poor management. I am disappointed and furious by her unprofessional response. I am a human rights lawyer, and the behavior the owner displayed alarmed me as it fell into a display of discrimination toward the deaf patron. I plan on stopping by her establishment to bring attention to the fact that this is the subject of a serious lawsuit. For the owner, may I suggest DEIA training to ensure you treat all of your future patrons, regardless of their disability, race, etc., with respect. For the family, if you happen to be reading this, I am so sorry that you had to encounter the discriminatory behavior. Please stay strong; you are loved. Don't hesitate to reach out to me if you need anything.

The owner is a total pill. She is rude and not customer focused. Also found a lot of dusty bottles in the shop so obviously she isn't moving a lot of inventory. I live in the neighborhood and I hope their is a better shop that comes in when she inevitably closes her doors. She illegally responded to our service dog for my deaf husband by saying her grandparents are deaf and they didn't need a service dog. She then said her dog barks so therefore our dog was not welcome. That of course is not our problem as her dog was inside. I encourage her to not break the law in the future. She can read this from the state of Illinois. I will be learning how to make a formal complaint with the Disability Rights Bureau for ADA compliance. Plenty of other places to buy good wine. I will encourage my neighbors in Winnetka and colleagues around the North Shore not to go here. Sour experience. Go down the street to La Taquiza for drinks. They are so kind.

We had a wonderful night celebrating a friend’s birthday here. It was a fun, memorable, and unique experience. The owner made it a special night for all of us!

The cutest little wine shop! They did a private event for a birthday which worked out well. The owner chooses all of the wines herself and they are all reasonably priced!
