This place gets the full 5 stars from me! My front door knobs had custom dimensions and lots of holes from previous owners. Any other specialty hardware store I went to suggested I spend thousands on mediocre hardware or buy new doors. When I came in to Wilmette hardware and presented my challenge, Justin was super supportive and helped me find a solution. He welcomed my creativity. The owner offered up his help and expertise as well. I now have my DREAM front door knobs. They were easy to reach if I had any questions. Door knobs were well wrapped and shipped to me quickly. All the parts I needed were included. I couldn’t be happier and am so glad I made to the hike to this place. You guys rock!

I admit their product is pretty but don’t be tempted. I had the worst experience, the ordering process was horrible. The disorganization and unreliability of this company is the worst I have seen in my ten years of design experience. I would highly suggest not working with them.

Magnificent hot fudge! The candies are excellent as well. One of my favorite places to go anytime I'm in the area.

The staff is knowledgeable and they always have help suggestions to solve issues. The store also pretty much carries anything you might need for any home improvement project.

An absolute find! You have a treasured lamp? They make it functional, you're looking for just the right door knob, look no further. The most elite private clubs worldwide trust Al Bar with their fine sterling. I worked with Lee Bettenhausen many years ago...I would still return to Al Bar when I need their services and I recommend them to everyone I know.

I have worked with Gregory before in the past. The craftsmanship of his team is incredible. The quality of their products is out of this world. Some of the hardware pieces I have specified for clients are like fine pieces of jewelry. I'm looking forward to working with him and his team again soon.
