This dude is an asshole. Plain and simple. Came in and he treated me like absolute shit. Asked him about a trash can (which he had as his trash can and did not even realize the value of it, it was Kartell), and he laughed at me and told me I could go buy a trash can anywhere. Waste of my time driving 30 mins to that place.

This place deserves zero stars. Had 4 silverware items appraised. Each item was from my mother's family heritage. The owner quotes $450 for an appraisal for all four items. According to him photos would be taken of each item and then sent to associates in New York and San Francisco. He said quote " these items will be worth significantly more." But I then went to another appraiser Oakton Coins & Collectibles 4547 Oakton St., Skokie, Illinois who analyzed each item and placed one item in a metal scanner. The store owners informed me all four items were only worth about $20 dollars and did not charge me for the appraisal. STAY AWAY from West End Antiques. I truly appreciate the overall customer service, especially the honesty and integrity, I received at Oakton Coins & Collectibles in Skokie.

I have visited West End Antiques a number of times over the years. Michael is a pleasure to work with -- so knowledgable and welcoming. His gallery is filled with treasures and he delights in showing you the latest of his finds -- many of which have ended up in my home! His appraisal work is comprehensive and timely -- perfect for insurance purposes.Visit West End if you get a chance -- it is well worth the time!
