“Hands down best experience with repair i’ve ever had. My partner and I are currently road tripping and had an issue with our van. We became pretty much stranded in Illinois so we went down to this shop for Mannie to take a look and diagnose an issue. He figured it out, we got the part overnighted, and the next day he fixed it. Mannie squeezed us into a spot and worked quickly to get us up and running again. He was so nice and the prices were unbeatable. Everyone there is so hardworking and won’t stop for anything. “Been working with Sun for about 1.5 years to keep my low mileage 2006 Toyota Matrix XR on the road. This car has a reputation for lasting forever if you care for it. Yesterday, I presented with an exhaust rumble and was braced to deal with a total replacement running into 4 figures. Sun told me a heat shield had come off due to corroded connection parts (I think I have this right...). Anyway, they fixed it for $88! A mechanic with no scruples could have really taken me to the cleaners, and I would have been none the wiser. Sun is very honest, knowledgeable and competent - plus they are right on the 77-Belmont bus line. I am sticking with them for good!”

“I recently took my car to Alba Auto Service (4 / 17 / 23) for maintenance and repairs (brakes and wiring) on the recommendation of a co-worker. Anyway, this may sound a little hokey. But it was probably one of the best auto repair experiences I have ever had. (since no one really enjoys going to the auto mechanic). The owner (& mechanic) Jimmy was a pleasure to work with. He kept me appraised of what repairs needed to be done to the car. “I called Jake this morning after seeing good reviews and how geographically close he is to me (I'm new to the area). I had what I thought was just a slow leak in a tire, so I told him it was no rush. He said he was busy, but didn't want me to be driving on a potentially bad tire, so he said to come in at 1:00 and he'd squeeze me in. I got there right at 1:00, he took my car right away, and less than 30 minutes later, I was on my way with a permanent patch in my tire (which would have definitely been completely flat by tomorrow had Jake not made time for me today). He is a super nice, genuine man who seems to really care about making sure everyone gets his best work in a timely manner. I would trust him with any other work my car may need.”

“My young son and I were driving to the Shedd Aquarium from Waukesha, WI when my check oil light came on. I will admit that I am completely ignorant when it comes to just about anything with cars, so I had no idea what kind of damage I could be doing to the car to continue driving, and I was a good 2 hours from home. I happened to find Kris Touhy Auto because I searched for a BP gas station close to me along my route -- and sure enough attached to the BP was this auto shop. I was shaken, I was embarrassed, I was rushed -- and the two men in the shop (an older gentleman and a younger man) immediately stopped what they were doing and both came out to check my oil level and fill it up -- for like pennies! They even showed my son (and me) how to do it. I can't say enough good things about these men and this shop. It seems like a simple, easy thing for most, but they saved the day for me, and it had a huge impact on my day. If I lived closer, you'd be my go-to! Thanks, gentlemen.”

“I had Richard's Body Shop replace the struts on the automatic lift gate on my 2018 RAV4, which have been messed up for a year, but I've been putting off having them fixed because I hate car repair. The tech that helped me was responsive, friendly, and did a fabulous job. They also cleaned it better than it's been since we bought it. It was expensive because the parts are ridiculous, but their charge was very fair. I still hate car repair, but Richard's definitely made it less terrible.”
