The Wild Child in Wilmette is my go to place when I want to buy something for my grandkids. They have a huge variety and the best toys!
The staff here is extremely helpful & always goes out of their way to help find that perfect purchase. There is something for kids of all ages.
If you are looking a gift or something for your own child, I highly recommend shopping at The Wild Child, you will not be disappointed!

I was recently at the wildchild in wilmette to buy solar eclipse glasses and the associate Heidi helped me. I had come in with my kids one who has special needs and Heidi was so patient and helpful. We love this store (both locations are amazing) with an amazing and helpful staff.

I was at the Wilmette Wild Child Toy Store recently to purchase Eclipse Glasses. It is always nice to browse at this Toy Shop. They have things you cannot find anywhere else. I was able to purchase the Eclipse Glasses easily and was happy with the
staff and selection of merchandise. I will be back often
and always tell my friends what a nice place and helpful experience I always encounter.

In response to the owner, didn't expect an apology from someone who didn't experience what I went through that day. Again as mention at the beginning of my comment this was my experience and also is not me throwing the race remark or anything like that. It's the point of view the associate had towards me. If you decided like a true small business owner and identify the problem. There was only 3 customers during the time I visited your store. Second your employee didn't not say anything to the person who purchase solar eclipse glasses about refunds, or damages or any of your remarks you mention. It's weird and ironic that she only mention it to me, did she denied the sale of course not with this economy who will. Second don't assume that Winnetka community thinks as open minded because that is another discussion which you can reach out to me personally. Shame on you as an owner judging the same way your employee did and try to make my experience and other better in the future. Again if you want another witness to this horrible event my husband was there as well. But knowing your response it means you don't care to address the situation. I can assure you it's not playing the racism card as people your self well use this type of term or sentence. It's the fact that your employee was not fair and used poor judgment. Again hope your response clarify Thales type of establishment it is with a lack of respect to other ethnicity and ethical behavior.
I give it a one due to my personal experience, my interaction over the phone was great but when I got to establishment it was a nightmare. Due to the solar eclipse, my son need glasses for himself and a mom from my social media referred me to this location. Again phone interaction was great but once Heidi, the cashier, saw my kids and I arrived her faced said it all. Proud to be Hispanic with brown complexion. I dressed not casual more like comfort on a rainy day. When we approached Heidi, she focus her attention to the Caucasian women before us and asked if she need help. After helping her she then rudely approach and said next customer,I told I had called earlier about placing solar glasses on hold, she said yes I remember but they are not refundable, she aggrevated me when she said this because the customer that she helped before me bought them without been told their not refundable. I told her it's okay I still will.like to purchase them she was so hesitant to sell them to me, but I expect this type of treatment in the part of town always. Wilmette has always been closed minded to other race or ethnicity. Again this my experience, the store looks very small but has a variety of toys but I know in my social media I would never recommend this store unless your Caucasian you will have a better experience then myself. Keep in mind I live in Evanston and never experience this treatment in my home town. Again if your Hispanic or African American or other beautiful ethnicity DO NOT SHOP there if you want this type of treatment, a very hostile and negative interaction.

I walked in and said I need a stuffed monkey and a great gift for a 10 year old girl- The sales lady had the most perfect softest chimpanzee, and knew exactly what every 10 year old girl wants, I was all wrapped up and out in less than 10 minutes! This is my new go to for every birthday party!

An amazing selection of creative, active, unique, crafty toys, games & dress-up for kids of all ages & interests. The woman in charge (owner?) on Sun, 8/31, was incredibly helpful making suggestions for age-appropriate gifts that turned out to be HUGE hits w/my nieces! She also cheerfully managed my order, with complimentary & lovely wrapping, as she simultaneously answered questions +pointed out gift suggestions for other patrons & helped a group of middle schoolers spend some limited funds creatively~all cheerfully, patiently & with a great sense of fun & humor. Loved that the store was OPEN on Sunday! A one-stop-and-done place!! Loved it!

We spent 3 hours in the park and my son was very happy because he played there with other kids and he made new friends. After he's done resting I decided to come here with him to buy him new toys to play with. I'm sure he will be surprised and excited if we go there and he can see all the toys. When we enter they are full of toys in their selection. He's so excited to see every selection they have. I told him that he can choose 3 toys that he will like. He told me that it's hard to choose because all of it looks cool and he wants it all. But his first choice was the car. He wants to add it to his collection of cars in his room. Second, he chose a box of clay and he wanted to play with it and make some figurines. Lastly he chose a coloring book where he likes to color some drawings. He was so excited when we paid it at the counter.
