Best in class for comfort, style, and service. Probably the largest selection of the ON brand shoe in the Chicago area. Big selection of European comfort shoes. The staff is highly knowledgeable about shoe brands, technology, and construction. Super nice people, no rush, great shopping experience. Ask for Steve.

Staff was friendly and super-helpful, and my daughter and I each walked out with a pair of quality, comfy (On Cloud) shoes. I love supporting this local business. We will definitely return.

Hanig"s Is A Blessing in My Life!!! I have received excellent customer services from Mike, Daniel Steve and Debbie. When I spoke with Debbie on March 23rd she immediately said "Happy Birthday" as her colleagues had advised her that my 79th Birthday was on March 24th. Hanig's staff have made me feel like I am a member of the family. Here in San Francisco we had Arthur Branan's . Alas they closed. I am so very pleased to learn of Hanig's and to experience their wonderful customer service. And Oh Yeah - I m so very glad to have my GraceBlack Taffetas. TR's Graces are like walking on air, so beautiful and so safe. My Grace Black Taffetas arrived perfectly in time for my Birthday. I so look forward to having Hanig's and Thierry Rabotin services in the future.Hanig's is Simply The Best!!

Hanig's has been around forever, and the focus has always been on service. Aging with its customers, it has definitely become the go to for comfortable / supportive shoes. I'll admit, when they were on Diversey way back when they used to have a lot more hip shoes. My mom would take me there when I was a teenager / young woman and we totally loved it. I can still remember the tall sexy black suede boots I got there in 1998. For a long time this Wilmette location (& I'm assuming Gold Coast too) has seemed more focused on middle-aged and "mature" styles, I've been telling them for a few years now that they need to bring in hipper supportive shoes - and they are finally doing it! Yay! I've been finding more and more shoes I actually like. The last pair I got there I actually really really love. They also seem to be diversifying their price point more, which is helpful because most people don't want to buy a $400 pair of shoes. And I'm starting to find some more and more good options there that are under $150. This location has easy parking & there are some other great stores in the Plaza Del Lago.

I bought a pair of Teem walking shoes. Oh my goodness; they are so comfortable - right from the first wearing. Thank you so much for helping me to easily get the correct size.

The best shoe store in the world! All of the staff are willing to go the extra mile. If what you thought you loved isn’t right for your foot: they will absolutely find shoes that are. They understand style & comfort do coexist.

I have never posted a comment that will end up on social media but take this unusual step because I love this store and want to help in any way I can to insure that they will survive and prosper. They are wonderful to deal with. I have been a customer at a minimum for the last fifteen years. They are the best and carry fabulous shoe styles, my favorite is Thierry Rabotin.

I posted this on Google, too, as I want to get the word out about the fabulous apartments above the boutiques at Plaza del Lago. Truly hidden gems. They were all gutted and completely renovated, and they are spectacular. I moved in about a year ago, and could not be happier. Beautiful interior color scheme - think pale blue-grey walls with white baseboards and window sills, wooden blinds, corian countertops, and hardwood floors. For me, the fact that no one lives above you, was a huge selling point, as well. Add to that, a Starbucks, Jewel, and CVS just steps away, and a super convenient proximity to the Metra station - and the Linden purple line. The boutiques, yoga studio, Convito Cafe and market, and the lake a hop skip and a jump away create a sweet neighborhood feel that's tough to resist. Just a wonderful place to live.

Historic shopping area in Wilmette. Never knew about this plaza until a family introduction. Beautiful to walk around and explore the architecturally historic sites. I've been visiting family around here over the past year, and somehow never noticed this region. Not many coffee options around, other than Starbucks, so do make the (nearby) visit to downtown Evanston for more options.

Over the past few years, Hanig's has become my go-to shoe store for cute, classy, and comfortable shoes. It's surprising that I always find so many shoes to love in this small space at the edge of Plaza del Lago. The sales people know their stuff and don't push. They'll even tell you when something's not a good choice. Somehow their graciousness spurs me on to buy more than I had intended. A wintry storm coming in last weekend, I went to buy boots as Toreen, lovely and helpful, walked me through my options. I went back the next day and Andrea was there. She, too, was wonderful to work with. Both women have great taste and I couldn't be happier with my purchases.
