I was staying the weekend in Wheeling and had a breakdown Monday morning as I was heading back home to Minnesota. I found Rick's which was just down the street from our hotel. I talked to Jason and explained what I heard and made it over safely over to drop it off. He had cars up on the racks and said he would work hard to get to my truck quickly. He finished up the other jobs and got a diagnosis. He nailed down the problem to a bad wheel bearing hub and placed the parts order right away but delivery would take overnight. He made getting my repair done a priority the following morning and we were back on the road by noon.
Knowledge. Expertise. Professionalism. Customer care. Yes, Jason worked on my car, but cared about who I was, my story at that moment, and my safety and well-being. I am mechanically adept and like to complete my own maintenance and repairs so I see the work being done. I visit the northern suburbs at different times throughout the year and Rick's and Jason are where I will go for anything automotive. Please be sure you consider their shop first. You will be as thankful as I am you did.

I can't tell you how wonderful this auto shop is. We have older cars and most mechanics cringe and act like we should just trade it in for a newer car. Jason and Rick don't. They are just there to help you and get your vehicle running great. They aren't going to sticker shock you and they won't try to tell you a million other things that you could replace for a hefty price. They talk over the issues with your car and make sure you understand what's going on. I would 100% recommend them. They do all their business by word of mouth... and I am one. If I had to describe how I felt about them in one word... it would be TRUST. I don't say that word easily. They are the real deal.

won't be going backcharged me $300 and didn't fix the problem. ended up having to go to a different mechanic to do the job.

We were 145 miles into a 220 Mile hike around the city of Chicago with our van hauling all of our gear and supplies when the locking mechanism on our side doors fell into the door itself and rendering our doors useless. We couldn't open the doors at all and couldn't vent the van properly in the summer heat. We were doing this hike in 20 days and had a VERY narrow window to get this fixed before we moved on to the next segment of our hike. Jason got us in, got the part and put us back on the road that day! Great customer service. Thank you for being so awesome! Cheers.

I used to go to Ricks over 20+ years ago when I lived in the area. They were the most honest repair shop I had ever gone to. They would tell me when I needed work done and , more importantly, when I didn't need work done. Since I moved, I've gone to various repair shops, and a Ford dealer, and haven't found one I truly trust like I did Rick's. I recently needed extensive work on my Ford and decided to see if Rick's was still around. I was excited when I found out they were still there. And , to my surprise, one of the mechanics, Jason, was still there too. I had them do the work needed and I couldn't be happier. Even though I drove an hour to get there, it was well worth it. To have a mechanic you can trust, and who does good work, is worth it's weight in gold. Jason and Rick (and George) are the best. I am beyond happy with their work and integrity. I highly recommend them!

I bought a Groupon and tried to schedule an OIL CHANGE for months - he's never available to get it done quickly and always wants me to leave the car there. Who wants to pay for an Uber for just an oil change? Complete waste of time and I'm getting a refund on the Groupon.

An auto repair gem down the street. Stopped in to look at a few issues. Clean shop, nice people and were able to look at my car immediately. Received a call within an hour of leaving my car. Addressed a few small problems I didn’t know I had and the potentially big issues were nothing. Fair prices, great service. I’ll be back. Thank you!

I took my Mazda CX9 to Rick’s auto with an issue of Passenger side wheel and brakes rattling noise.. Talked to Jason at morning 7:30 Am and was skeptical if i would be able to get my car back very same day coz the historically diagnosing Mazda CX9 is pretty quirky.... From the time i talked to Jason and till i got my car back with diagnosis and fixing the issue with Oil Change, Top Up, Tire rotation was phenomenal. It merely took 2 hrs for Jason to handover my car back.
Not only the time... but the Jason never overcharged me and the service, labor charges with fixing issues plus oil changes are very economical... would say better than fair.
Jason was very upfront and honest and the hospitality and attitude was commendable.
Thanks Jason for such a pleasant and overwhelming experience....

Was having car trouble and they were courteous and helpful. Prompt in towing my car, and had it ready the next day. I’m not super knowledgeable about cars, but they seemed trustworthy and knowledgeable in regards to the issues and pricing. I’ve had my car back a few weeks now and it’s running great without any issues. I would go back if I had another car issue.
