“I moved to VP about 5 years ago from the northside, and I'm so happy we found this place....I'm proud to say its become our go-to. Not only does Mike's have amazing high quality meat, but they have a great deli too and the staff makes it even better. Since day 1, i'm always greeted in the kindest way - I even know some by first name basis which is always a small town dream, right?! I should've made a review a long time ago but I am now because on Saturday I bought a 5 1/2 lb corned beef brisket for St Patrick's day to make my husband, and I was really conflicted on the best method to make it since it was on the larger end (from my experience of cooking). I already procrastinated in the morning and probably should've started earlier but I decided to call up Mikes this morning for advice and wow - they really helped me. Google wasnt helping me, everyone has different methods, or recipes of which way is better and i wanted to get it just right especially since this was not a cheap cut of meat!Two gentlemen gave me advice on 2 methods, and they literally gave me all the tips and best ways to handle from their own experiences. Man, it really made me so happy to support a business like Mikes and we will always continue to do so. They really care, and always take the time to help out their customers in store and over the phone. Thank you Mikes meat market! You guys are truly a gem in VP.”

“I've driven past this market a bunch of times and decided to pop in on a whim to see what it's all about. I was very pleasantly surprised - not only do they have an abundance of produce, they had a sizable selection of specialty produce. In addition to produce, they had meat, a deli counter, a cheese section, and the biggest array of ethnic foods that I've seen at a non specialty grocery store. I will definitely be keeping this market top of mind for future recipes and gatherings.”

“So I went to Jasper Meats on Saturday for a special #6? But we didn't realize you have to pre order for sure looking forward to going back to complete our purchase.update as of 9/14/23 - we did get the package deal (pre order is needed) and it looks so good, I cannot wait to taste it out but trying to divest the fridge of leftovers at the moment. Well packed, in a box about 24" wide, 6" thick and about 18" in depth, it will travel well. frozen-ish, sauce too. I put the sauce in the fridge to soft thaw.Everything is vacuum sealed so if kept frozen or in the fridge it should last a good while. By my dads clock, at least 10-15 years LOL.Steaks look nice and marbled. Pork roast and ribs and I think chicken (memory) all look very good, I cannot wait.We also picked up a package or two of Canadian Bacon which I intend to grill up, possibly this morning, hungry. Not sure I will slice it up or grill it as a piece....thinking a piece and then cut up into chunks-ish size. leaning heavily on the grill the whole thing side. Maybe a snack this morning with some toasty bread......mmmmm beer could be a good addition, in the afternoon hours.”

“High quality meat, awesome individual running the place and awesome prices. You do have to purchase in bulk but if you have a family then trust me you will never shop anywhere else. I've been coming here for a very long time(close to 2 decades, yeah I'm that old!). Ali and his team have been running this place forever and its been family owned for God knows how long. I'm unsure if you need a tax i.d. to shop here but I've been coming by well before that requirement. Huge selection of high quality halal meats, but you have to order it so don't just show up. Call first! I'll be back over and over again. This Yelp page hasn't been updated in forever it seems but this place is still open, right off of cortland and route 53.”

“The ice-glazed frozen chicken breast and tenderloins are perfect because they do not stick together leaving one to easily grab 1 or their desired number of breasts to prepare as needed. “Why they are the best meat, eggs and milk store in town:I accidentally walked into this new meat store a few months ago. Noted the following on their supplies from “farm to customer”:—GOAT: their slaughter house to store time is very low. It means fresher and tastier goat. Goat curry at home, is very tasty now compared to meat from other stores—CHICKEN: is directly supplied. There is no middlemen and extra layers involved here. Cold storage life is very low. Chicken curry is yummier. Check it out yourself—FISH: is sent from India on Monday in vacuum sealed package. Reaches here on Wednesday. It’s not like frozen fish from other stores. When you buy fish from other stores it’s about 3-6 months old since cut, frozen and unfrozen!—EGGs: they are directly supplied from free range/naturally raised in Michigan. It means the best/top quality! Check out how their omelette tastes. Like omelettes in India during the 1990s. Their yolk is an indicator of freshness—MILK: is also straight from the farm. “I understand that a majority of your customers speak Spanish,English is my second language also ,however your customers dont need to speak English but your employees NEED to! Numerous times that I have tried to purchase food at your hot bar its always the thing you cant ask anyone anything because of the language issues,recently they just serve the person before you and the person after you! “Famous meat shop opened 1 year back and you can get all kinds of meats available.This is owned by Indians (from hyderabad) and they terrific and decent. They treat the customers well and take the orders on time.One specialty with this store, they import wide range of fishes from South Asia and didn't find in any other store in my experience.”
