This was my first visit with my wife and American Bully. We fortunately met a handful of people and their beloved dogs. Although we began in the smaller fenced area to acclimate our dog, we soon were compelled to try the very large wooded area with trails. We simply can’t say enough how really wonderful this place truly is and so much looking forward to our next visit. I don’t want to over populate this great find; but it’s so wonderful.Restrooms: Nothing fancy but simple pit toilets.Dog-friendliness: It’s primarily a dog park, which is run and maintained very well.Picnic area: A very nice large shelter to sit under and plenty of tables for everyone to use.

Incredible hidden off-leash dog park! Great trails for both canine and human to walk/run together, plenty of shade, as well as open grassy area to run and play fetch. You do have to carry your p*** bags out to the dumpster, don’t forget!

Most sweetest doggies. spacious and very generous. There are tables for us to sit and it has a p*** bag area along with a faucet drain with multiple buckets for water. Love it here ? ? ??

Easily the best dog park around with the fenced in forest at the back. 2 gate entrance, water available on site during warmer months, usually plenty of dogs to play with (with its own benefits and risks, but the vast majority of owners are responsible and monitor their dogs for behavior issues).Long isolated dog run for introducing dogs new to playing with stranger dogs.Owners picking up after their dog seems to be hit and miss, but that's the same issue at any park. Again, the majority of owners are responsible and it's an overall very clean and friendly dog park.

This place is so beautiful & perfect for dogs! People are nice & friendly and the scenic woods that is enclosed makes it perfect. Most of the time, it is pure harmony. Unfortunately, some dog owners are irresponsible and occasionally bring in aggressive dogs. If only someone oversaw it. Again, most of the time it is pure bliss. A beautiful, scenic dog haven with cool dog owners, what more could one ask for? ???️?

Good place to walk -- no paved trails that I saw. If it's not runny, it can be great, imagine that it would be pretty muddy in the rain. Not stroller or wheelchair friendly, but good for dogs -- saw several dogs running around leash free.

Took my 12lb. puppy and was kind of scared when all the large dogs stood at the gate waiting for us to come in. I walked in and my puppy was surrounded, usually my dog is the aggressor but he just rolled over and let them check him out. He must have passed the test because they were satisfied and walked away. We walked through the woods and he didn't leave my side, when we came out some bigger dogs ran up to him and wanted to play, they ran off through the grass. The next day I came back and there must have been over 20 dogs there, Again they met us at the gate to check him out and the rest of the visit was him running with the dogs, visiting with the "parents" and just have a fun free time. The other adults were so nice and watched their dogs carefully. We are heading there again today, I love that he doesn't have to be on a leash and interacts with the other dogs.

Great dog park! Only downside is people go whether or not their pets are vaccinated. There's a good smaller section connected that can be good for potentially frightened/reactive dogs. Open field in the front and small walking trails in the forest in the back.

We have been a few times and as always use your best judgment with dogs that come! We have had a great time and most importantly our girl has! it has a nice open area and my favorite is the trail behind all enclosed!

Schweitzer Woods Forest Preserve and Dog park has been a savior these past 9 months! I've taken my dog to this park many times over this past year and he truly enjoys to socialize with all of the dogs and owners. Perks are large enclosed wooded area, free entry, sunrise to sunset access. Most of the owners are responsible and friendly, but we have run into some owners who should take more responsibility over their wild pets. There are two enclosures: a larger area (where most of the bigger and socialized dogs play) and a smaller area for tiny or dogs that aren't ready for large group play). We haven't had any issues with ticks or fleas yet and my dog is treated. It's important to check your pets frequently after woods play. I do believe that the park cleans it but I'm not sure of the schedule of how frequently it happens. On numerous occasions I have spotted the same p*** and throw up in the woods. I can't believe owners just leave their p*** without cleaning up after their pets. Y'all have to do better. Overall, it's a great place to bring your pets for exercise and socialization. See ya there.

What an amazing area! The dog park was good (we were in the smaller of two areas), but the walking trails were fantastic! Well manicured and beautiful views and plants/flowers to see along the way. Unfortunately, our dogs each came home with a few ticks each, but I guess that is to be expected this time of year and we found early before they embedded. Use a good tick prevention if going here on dogs and wear pants and shoes for the humans.

This dog park is simply wonderful. It is great for big and small canines alike. It is a sufficient amount of space for your fury friend to relax, explore, exercise and play. My buddy loves it. There's even a section for dogs who may be more timid and conservative. One of the best parts is that it's FREE!!!
