I went yesterday just to waste some time. Hubby and I bought a few things. Not clothing. We go to the register, and there is a big sign "we check receipts." Great, I am ok with that. Security is in front by the registers, watching as people check out. As we are approaching, she is looking in folks' bags. Hubby has the receipt, and I have the bag. She checks the receipt, and I refuse to allow her to check my bag. To me, there is no need. She stood less than 10 feet from us while we checked out. She saw the associate ring up each item, and she saw me pay. She said, "Don't disrespect me." I said no disrespect intended, but you checked the receipt already, and you are not checking my bag. She said I am just doing my job. I asked to see the written policy on that. She said only she was told. I said then it doesn't apply to me if I haven't been shown. I continued on out of the store, assuring her this was not being disrespectful to her, but if that is policy, Ross needs to post that so I can decide if I want to shop there or not.
I am never going back to that store again if that is how I will be treated. You watch me check out, and you still want to look in my bag. Heck no!!! Is this an unwritten policy in the Waukegan Ross store or all Ross stores????

I understand having to stop a person with a large item coming out of Walmart because there's a bunch of cash registers to go through and I'm sure almost impossible to keep an eye on people but at Ross, where there is at most 3 cash registers....?? The security standing 6 feet from me watched me get handed my card and receipt, I turn take 3 steps and she steps toward me... can I see your, NO! NO YOU CANNOT. YOU LITERALLY WATCHED ME WALK THROUGH THIS WHOLE TRANSACTION AND SO NO. What the heck. I had 6 things at $4.99, ALL but in A bag!!! This is the most dumbest, most offensive, most harassing crap I'm no longer entertaining. āļø

If I could rate it without giving a star I would, black people are treated super unfair here. I didnāt even get a chance to get out of my car, and the loss prevention woman was already at the door grilling me and my children. I probably would never visit this place again. Soon as we came in Miguel and the āLoss preventionā woman started following us around. I mean every aisle, they were there. The store is already super junky and you canāt find anything look like an alley as it is and this is the treatment they get. ? NEVER AGAIN! I went down the street to Burlington and got treated way betterā¦

People need to stop buying new. I understand being poor. Been there. Still there.Buying from Ross will not help you. Ross is cheap because of the cheap quality which means bad for the environment. Poor work conditions, and overall shady businessSupport your local thrift stores who give back to the community where you can find better clothes for better prices. Also, your store was messy.
