He taught us new ways to train our Shepherd mix up. He explains everything and is available for questions by text or messenger. He is affordable it's worth it to learn to train your pet. Plus he comes to your house. There are group classes also.

I first met Derek of Crouse Canine at NePoPo® New Silver School held in Springfield, Missouri in November.Derek, a NePoPo® Gold Multiplicator, along with other Master Coaches in attendance, checked in on students throughout the three days of school.Derek took the time to answer my study- and dog training-related questions, and he even sat down with me after my successful completion of New Silver School to chat about the experience. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that we both have a background in journalism and newspaper reporting!Derek’s kindness and passion for teaching are top notch. I recently booked a virtual training session with Derek to continue to grow my knowledge as a trainer as well as troubleshoot a few training items with my deaf dog. I plan to book more virtual sessions with Derek in the future and appreciate his creative teaching methods!

Crouse Canine is the real deal! Derek brings a level of passion to his craft that you don't see with other trainers. Especially at the big box store trainers. He's dedicated to training the individual just as much as the dog to make sure that you learn everything he has to offer. He also records the important parts of your session and shares the videos with you so you can review them later to help with your knowledge. If you have any questions he's always available to answer them and address your concerns. My wife and I have been using Derek for over a year and we have learned so many skills that will use not only with our current dogs but with all the dogs we will have in the future. Don't hesitate to give Crouse Canine a call!!

Derek is a great trainer! I’m so glad we found him! He’s currently training my goldendoodle and we are working on him becoming a therapy dog. Derek knows what he’s doing, customizes his training for each dog/owner, and really cares about helping you and your dog. I wouldn’t hesitate to use him again!

I attended a trainer’s training workshop put on by Derek Crouse at Crouse Canine, January 5-8, 2023. It was truly an exponential learning experience. I attended the workshop as I am a newer dog trainer looking to level up my own skills training dogs, and to learn new business models to serve my own local community. The level of other trainers attending the workshop from all over the USA to train with Derek spoke for itself as to the man’s reputation. You don’t have top National talent showing up to train with you if you don’t have something special to offer. Excellence in training, says it all to me. The connections I saw him make with people and dogs was amazing. He helped create a family out of this group of attendees by having us all struggle to level up while helping each other. Developing people is definitely a super talent Derek possesses. He knows how to coach people in order to help them strive to become their best. His dedication to deep learning is evident, and doesn't stop at dogs. He brings many talents to the table, in addition to being an excellent dog trainer and decoy. I will attend other workshops put on by Derek in the future because he gave way more than I expected. We trained hard and our average day was 12 hours. Not for the faint of heart!I highly recommend Derek Crouse at Crouse Canine, as a trainer, coach and mentor. Few people I have met has his heart for dogs AND people. I like that he believes in being of real service to his local community too. That’s huge in my book. Word of warning if you decide to train with him, be prepared to do the work. He will meet you with his all, but has expectations set for those select few who he now trains with. Demand is rising as his reputation grows. If you are in his local community and are thinking you want to train with him, I suggest you get it scheduled soon. I know I’m personally pushing him to become more as he has a lot to offer other trainers, like myself.

It all began 3yrs ago during our evaluation. I sat and listen for hours which went by in a blink of an eye. The knowledge, passion, drive and willingness to listen that Derek possess was awsome to see. We set a plan that Sunday and never looked back. The knowledge that I gained from Derek over the years gave me the ability to get another dog and train to a fault.With Crouse Canine its not just about training your pup, I feel like its culture to get the average person to see dog training differently. Over the years of training with Derek and Crouse Canine I can honestly say its a family. The people that I have meet, the difference in training methods and life perspectives of all these individuals is fascinating. For that Derek I thank you. Our life coversations out weight the dog convo's by miles. My son calls him tio/uncle Derek.Derek Crouse is not just my dog trainer, he is Family!!!!

The best Illinois has to offer. Derek is an unbelievably talented trainer and an amazing human being. I’ve been lucky enough to learn under Derek the last couple years. The constant unwavering passion Derek brings to every client he interacts with and dog he touches is a true gift. The level of teaching every client receives is meticulous, detailed and thorough. Derek’s possesses a unique ability to motivate people into training, playing, and enjoying dogs day in and out which for many can be a huge challenge. From pet dogs to working dogs theirs nobody better.

Derek is an incredible trainer. I have worked very closely with him on multiple pet dog clients as well as bitework with my own dog. You won’t find a harder working, more compassionate and caring trainer than Derek. I send clients to him regularly and trust him with any dog.

Derek is one of the most passionate and well versed dog trainers I have ever met. He is well versed the science of dog training and he is patient when conveying that information. He is personable, patient and when you start training with him your family will have joined his extended family.

I have a crazy life, getting to group classes was never easy between my schedule and the weather, as a result, I ended up missing half of them.I looked around for in home training and found Crouse Canine on Instagram.Derek's training is straight forward and effective. I literally saw positive results, using his guidance, in just a couple training sessions.It's incredible how how my Malinois responds to Derek. As I watch him work with her, I'm see the dog I want. I'm amazed I'm getting the same results when I work her.I would recommend Crouse Canine to anyone who wants a better relationship with their dog.
