I had a one bedroom and even though the furniture is a bit worn, the room was clean, and the front desk was extremely friendly. The hotel is well maintained. Having a full size fridge, stove, dishwasher, and a nice size desk, made me feel like I was at home. Very comfortable. I would definitely stay again and recommend this location.

Stayed here 3 times total, normally it’s always a good experience except this last time! I have been trying to reach the general manager over this but I keep getting told she will contact me. Stayed there on NYE and found a roach in the bathroom! It was small but I hate bugs so to some this might not be a big deal. I didn’t stick around to see if there were more with it. I packed my stuff and got outtt.

I really enjoyed the stay here. Rooms were very clean and spacious, and staff was friendly and accommodating (shout out to Lisa :-) and the Manager who held my packages until I could get them). Having a gym onsite was great and convenient but I also enjoyed the beautiful, peaceful scenery if I wanted to take a walk outside. I would definitely stay here again if in the area.

PLEASE READ FULL REVIEW!!
Let me be clear that I am only giving stars because the lady at the front desk was very sweet to me. She gets a 5 star.
But the room… would get a negative 5 if I could. The minute I walked in the room it smelled awful. I’m not even going to say what it smelled like. Actually I’ll say it. It smelled like human urine.
Then as soon as I set my purse down on the kitchen counter, a little baby roach went running across. I am attaching pictures.
The floor had definitely not even been swept because I took a Clorox wipe to it and picked up more particles of bugs on that. There was something all over the floor that I am assuming was cat litter. And no broom in the room to clean it up.
Nothing had been wiped down at all. I just felt disgusting in there. The people who have given this hotel a high rating have clearly never been to a nice hotel before because this is not even close to being comparable to a nice hotel. Sonesta’s are usually really decent hotels. I do not know how they have allowed this one to stay in business because it is not even close to being up to par with others I have been at.
Someone needs to come in and shut this place down immediately. Or completely take everything out and renovate the entire thing. Please do not stay here. I know the prices are decent. But take an extra $40 and go across to the Hyatt. Please.
Oh! I forgot to mention the spider on the wall by the bed. I cannot say enough awful things about this place.
And the fact that whoever in management is replying to these bad reviews and being defensive should be ashamed of themselves. Take accountability for your awful cleaning staff and lack of attention to this property and stop shifting blame on guests who have paid their hard earned money to stay in this sad excuse of a hotel.
I don’t even leave bad reviews. But this time I could not continue on with my life without warning other people.
I don’t know how much “management” is being paid here but they aren’t worth minimum wage. Sonesta, hiring some decent management would be highly beneficial to your brand.
Oh one more thing. Adding a picture of what appeared to be dried up vomit on the second floor hallway carpet. How many times did the cleaning lady walk past that without cleaning it up? 🙄
Update: told the lady about the roaches. Her reply: “we just had Orkin here to spray last month”.
Also was denied a refund. What a joke.

House keepers at this location steal. Be sure not to have or bring any valuable items. Very disappointing you can’t stay at a hotel without having your items stolen

This hotel was the worst hotel that me and all of my 20 plus co workers have ever traveled to. I am a retail traveler and I have been to over 30 hotels in the past year. This hotel was by far the worst. The management is EXTREMELY rude and disrespectful. They start your room for cleaning then abandon it and finish it at their convenience (photos will be attached). The toilets stop up constantly, so much so that every room is equipped with a plunger. The toilet overflows and they make you clean it yourself. It is ridiculous. On top of all this chaos the front desk associates are NEVER at the desk so if you want to buy something good luck because no one will be there to help. Last but definitely not least, the washers do not work nor does the dryers. You have to test them out before trying to see which one works and by then you already wasted your money. I urge you not to come to this horrible place. ***The photos are the unfinished room and the stopped up toilet.***
The response that the owner stated to this review is false. First, you only addressed the unfinished room and the toilet you did not address anything about your poorly ran establishment that I mentioned. Second, not ONE employee addressed the toilet issue to ANY of us (myself and my employees) only when the problem persisted. The hotel manager stated that “you cannot flush toilet paper and that’s what the trash bin was for.” She also was very rude during a phone call regarding this issue stating “what do you want me to do? Get on my knees and clean every corner” after my toilet overflowed. The problem was only resolved after a report was made, the hotel manager was not willing to fix anything until management got involved. Your response was false and irrelevant to the matter. I am actually embarrassed for you and your team you guys are without a doubt the worst establishment we all stayed in. In fact, it was so bad we were all at work talking about the issues we were all having. Expect more reviews from us thanks.

Please review photos. This hotel is horrible. Housekeeping doesn’t finish rooms, toilet stops up, and front desk is never at their station to help. The photo is showing half finish room, no shower curtain and stopped up toilet.

I stayed here with my family for a week. Unfortunately, it was not an overall positive experience.
The first room we were put in had not been completely cleaned by housekeeping. We noticed after putting all our stuff in for the stay. So we had to be moved. It was a hassle as we had to go up and down stairs repeatedly to get the new keys working right. In totally we spent over 30 minutes moving between the rooms after driving 10 hrs that day.
The rooms here have no ventilation at all. So hot showers leave the rooms very muggy all day. The humidity clearly damages lighting fixtures and drywall in the bathroom. The shower towel rack fell off when I touched it, the light fixture is rusted and warped, and the shower curtain rod was also coming off the wall. See photos. Our toilet also had a problem with the flapper so it would run continuously unless you fiddled with it every time.
They advertise a gym and laundry room. However, the gym has no ventilation, so it’s pretty smelly and uncomfortable. The washer and dryers do not accept coins, and instead use an absolutely terrible app which requires you to pre-load money. The app has terrible ratings for a reason.
I will say that generally, the front desk are professional and pleasant to work with.

Was charged TWICE for a $100 deposit because of a “terminal issue” they have been having- that the front desk lady did not mention until AFTER making me insert my card twice. I asked to be refunded immediately for one of those transactions & she stated it would take 7-10 business days. RIDICULOUS. They should invest in new terminals or only accept cash for the time being. They should also invest in a new front desk associate as the one tonight had a nasty attitude and made the situation no better.

This hotel should be shut down immediately to be honest. Being that me and my wife are from Schaumburg, IL a few years ago we moved out of state. We were visiting back home to introduce our newborn to the family, so we booked our stay at this place. Since we are from here we know Naperville, Warrenville, Wheaton are considerably nice areas. So we’re thinking our stay would be pleasant, wrong!! The ppl at the front desk are rude, unprofessional and like to go back and forth with customers. From the time we checked in we had problems. So after the receptionist from hell encounter, we make it to our room 142# last name Smith. The room were not very clean , stains were everywhere, shower had soap scum all around the facet, towels looked used and folded back up and carpet looked not to be vacuumed. The kicker was when I went to let out the couch bed to lay our newborn down. The mattress had dead insects of some sort rolled up inside, the mattress front and back as well as the frame was covered in Mold, completely disgusting. There is more but I feel I have wasted too much of my time on this dump already. We are Hilton Honors members that’s where we normally stay, I was trying to save a little money this trip and got burned for it. Just pay and extra $40-$60 bucks to stay somewhere pleasant and have a piece of mind. I do not recommend.

Oh boy where to begin. To start I used an agency to try to reserve but couldn't get two different rooms. We called and reserved both thru them after they told us we could cancel one if needed. They re-assured us. We called 2 days later to cancel 1 room. They told us they couldn't because it was reserved thru a travel agency(apparently one they use but they didn't know about it?!?) but told us we couldn't cancel.
Once arrived, our room smelled like body odor, the ironing board was left out, there was day(s) old coffee left in the coffee maker, the bathroom didn't look cleaned. Later on that night, I had to go down to the front desk to get blankets(there were no blankets on the beds) By this time, I was really hoping the sheets have been changed! I let them know my concern at the FD and they thought "Maybe it was the new cleaning lady that she didn't know how to clean their rooms" They were kind enough to give me blankets and towels. But they didn't offer to clean the room or move us, help past that point or compensate us anything.
They said we could call next time and not have to come down(but the phone didn't work either) This hotel is VERY poorly managed and all the front desk that we spoke to(when someone was around) seemed put out, bothered and that the customer was always assumed wrong to start. While waiting at the FD one time, there was someone asking for soap and coffee and they treated him the same. I later washed my own coffee pot and threw out someone else's coffee grounds and then asked the FD for coffee, but they ran out and didn't have any to give but decaf.
Today, I found out that I've been charged 4 times for this room(this may not be their fault but due to "travel companies")
I asked if our room could be refreshed as in new sheets really since I was unsure. They told me, since COVID, they only change sheets if I stayed there longer than 7 days! But she did offer my own sheets if I wanted to change them! Nooiice! :)
Noisy car alarms and motorcycle revving motor late on Saturday night, running in the hallways late at night and I was going to call, in case the FD couldn't hear it, oh yeah, my phone didn't have a dial tone but was plugged into the wall.
I do not recommend this hotel! I think it has a bunch of potential and in a quite neighborhood but management was lacking in every way! May a little extra to stay someplace nicer!

I choose extended stay type hotels to accommodate my family. Suites assist in giving the separate bed room from the living area. I am very disappointed in this place. The room was very dirty and stains were all over the couch and the floors were cracked. I don't get how they have a 3 star rating. It needs major updating and cleaning. My family and I choose not to stay, we left as soon as I saw the room. I have never felt so uncomfortable with a hotel room. Get it together Sonesta Simply Suites near Naperville, IL. How unpleasant.
Rooms: Absolutely disgusting and outdated. See photos attached.

When we arrived, we had to yell "hello" several times to get the attention of the customer serv. rep that was hidden behind a big partition wall in the front. The 1st room smelled like wet dog & I am highly allergic to pets. The 2nd room was comfortable, quiet, and dark, but we were not able to get the extra pillows we requested because there was only 1 available and it looked like it had been in a pillow-fight and was flat and misshapen. The parking lot was full of potholes, and upon check out, we were hit with a $5 pkg fee. There are NO hotels in this area (it's a little off the beaten path) that charge parking fees. Had to yell "hello" again since no personnel are visible at the desk upon check out. Not a great experience, and the parking fee was uncalled for.
