Apparently Jewel plans on ignoring the fact that it's German month. Doing a search on the app for anything German confuses the search engine and it just buffers. It's disgraceful to ignore the people that built this country while catering to people here illegally.

Make sure to check expiration dates on everything! Today, Kemps small curd cottage cheese in LG container expired Sept. 10. Snickerdoodle cookie mix expired Feb.24. This is not an isolated occurance.

Just go to the Jewel in Elmhurst, or Pete’s in Lombard..
I have personally seen Rick in the deli scratch his beard with the same gloves he cuts the meat with. My husband has suggested to have him moved but they keep him there anyway, regardless of how disgusting that is. They’ve even told us they moved him, but he either got put back in deli or they never moved him in the first place.
They also dont seem to take down expired food because every time I do larger grocery runs here, I always have something thats spoiled or past the expiration date.
Its unfortunate too because this is the closest store to my house and I’d like to be able to do the majority of my shopping here, but Im just too grossed out and dont really trust this place with food anymore.

Typically have to wait over 1/2 hour for curbside..32 minutes as I type this...produce they choose is many times overripe and substitute instructions are not always followed.

I've been coming here for the 5 years I've lived in the area and I have yet to see the quick grab baskets stocked and available for shoppers. They might have 5 total, and you'll never find them.
Also one time I bought a pack of chicken that smelled like it was marinated in fish market juice. Disgusting.

So store director Jim decided to yell at a woman and her son for selling Boy Scout popcorn outside the store after they had taken over for other people managing the table earlier in the day. So sad when a grown man can't act like a grown up or a man.

AVOID the 3-for-$12 cut fruit; after the 3rd time of returning tough, non-ripe and (bonus!) cut-to-the-rind fruit on separate occasions (and after talking to the manager who must not have passed this along to staff), I give up.

I hate that store. Rude enployees, bad service. Cigarette smoke/ashtray near the door. If it wasn't the only store in town it would have closed a long time ago.

Clean, good produce and bakery section. Just a great store. Dairy and meat market sections are awesome too. And a Redbox outside.

I've seen a better and fresher selection of meat at a gas station. The meat section smells like spoiled chicken and looks like it's been painted green and is about to star in an episode of the walking dead. I wouldn't even give the meat here to a fly.

They have some great sales and the staff is friendly.

The only reason I shop at the villa park jewel is the convenience. If you shop during the daytime you will witness the manager bully multiple employees. He is very loud and obnoxious. I feel sorry for anyone that has to work with that man.
If you want to shop with a basket you can forget about it. I think they only have 2-3 for customer use. The rest are scattered around the store filled with random product.

Some things are over priced stick to sale items. For u coupons are helpful
