Michelle was helpful then in explaining the process in order to achieve the best results. After a while, and as can happen with any painted finish, we needed to touch up the "trash can" door which takes the most abuse. Since Annie Sloan is now manufactured overseas, there is apparently a slight color variation from the Coco color we originally used. Obviously, we called Michelle to ask what to do. Not only was she able to track down a sample size of the original formula, but she shipped it out to us without an invoice. Wow! If you're looking for Annie Sloan products or help/advise for your own projects, Michelle's your gal. Thanks Michelle taking such good care of us. We really appreciate it!”
“This is one of the Ten Thousand Villages that has an annual handmade rug event, where you can come in and see the rugs. You might find handmade rugs someplace like The Dump in Lombard, however here you can be sure it's made by fairly-paid artisans and you don't need to wonder about child or slave labor. They often have interesting jewelry which is quite affordable; miscellaneous housewares; runners/napkins/placemats/aprons etc. and hand-knit hats/scarves/mittens. They even carry fair trade chocolate bars. It's a little bit like Pier 1 used to be but with fairly-paid artisans instead of mass merchandise. There's nothing here that you need, but there is probably something here that will make you smile. Staff is very pleasant and patient when you ask them to, say, show you every rug in a three-foot stack of carpets, and if you have something particular in mind, they'll help you find something similar.”
“I recently had the pleasure of working with Ron Carter at Designer Looks/VCF, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. Unlike many salespeople, Ron wasn't pushy at all. He was always available to help, offered fantastic recommendations, and truly cared about finding the right pieces for me. His professionalism and genuine desire to assist made the whole process smooth and enjoyable. I highly recommend him to anyone in the market looking for furniture!”
“The staff was incredibly helpful with finding the right pieces for us. Donna helped us get the measurements and even printed us out care instructions for our furniture. After all that she gave us several options for delivery and helped us organize it all. Great experience overall.”

“Not just the manager, but the customer service of the mall were both so incredibly helpful and accomodating. They went above and beyond to help me attain what I needed all through over the state phone calls. I recommend this mall to anyone and everyone nearby. They are very friendly and willing to help. Thank you so much Jackson Square!!!”

He was professional and helped me not only select the perfect sofa but also a rug and fabric for a custom made ottoman. Tim never rushed me and took the time to move things around so I could get the feel and look of the selections! I would definitely recommend Steinhafels and will seek out Tim for additional purchases! Thank you Tim!”

She did not pressure us into anything. Order and installation was very quick- we had our treatments completed within 3 weeks of our first meeting with Anne. Prices seem very reasonable. We cannot wait to work with fresh twist in the future for the rest of our house! A great local business in Elmhurst!”
“I love coming here!!! I’ve been a loyal customer of Julie since before COVID, and there’s a reason why! So many awesome gifts, if you’ve got a person with niche interests, Gather and Collect has the gift for them! Also love shopping the resale items, overall a great place to be!”

8 W Harris Ave, La Grange“I would like to start my review by saying "HELLO DARLING." This was an interesting shop for me because I was unsure whether this shop would have anything for me. But, upon suggestions, I ventured to this shop. I was in this area previously but never knew that there was a hidden gem (shop) in the area. Where were you "The Darling Shop"? Upon entering the store, the store associate welcomed me by placing a white disco ball necklace around my neck (I felt like I was given a medal for partying hard lol) and handed me the goodie bag. She was sweet and patient. As a part of the event, the goodie bag had white disco ball necklace, pink disco ball drink tumblers, facial cleansing wipe, nail polish and some stickers. She explained to me a little history about the store. It blew me away when I knew that this store sells their goods from local area small businesses, people etc. The Darling shop is a stage for all these mini businesses where every product is made with minute detail. This was my first surprise. The store had party stuff, women's fashion, baby stuff was on the right side from the counter, home goods, sunglasses on the left side to the wall and many more. There was one section where they had various kinds of greeting cards. There were a variety of things in the store. My first look was that it was a store for women but as I went around for a bit then it was eye-catching when I saw they had a small section for men which was my second surprise. They had Men's accessories, clothing, and grooming. Upon looking, I bought a black pair of socks for myself. To sum up, the store was cool with such a variety of daily goods. I could not get to meet the owner NIKKI, but the store instantly gives you happy vibes with all the positive quotes around the store and for the stuff they are selling. I also checked out their website which was great, but the only recommendation is it would be nice if the font color is white (other color) on top and bottom of the website as it can be more visible. I would recommend my friends to explore this store. Lastly, for me, THE DARLING STORE = INSTANT HAPPINESS.”

530 Duane St, Glen Ellyn“I’ve been to this shop twice now. First time was almost by accident and so glad I happened upon it. Second time, I had a friend visiting from Milwaukee. We drove from downtown Chicago to the shop (about 35 mins) and the shop was closed. We inquired in a neighboring shop and long story short, a wonderful neighboring retailer opened the shop until someone could get there to ring up our purchases. It is an amazing shop with great gifts (for others or yourself!) and the retailers in that little strip are second to none!! I will shop here continuously for all my special gifts!! Thanks to the owner and her amazing staff and the friendship of the neighboring shops.”

The staff is courteous, friendly and professional. The food is delicious, too. I saved the best for last....the frozen margaritas are so, so, so good!!!! I like tahnin on my margarita. Again, so, so, so good. You won't be disappointed. The food and margaritas are spectacular. EW”
“Very professional, Damian has been cut and clear how everything was going to look and fit in our bathroom , our bathroom looks great after installing the glass doors , the only regret I have is that I didn’t know him before and not waste my time with other glass installers getting estimates.Thank you again”
“My one stop shop for all occasions! They literally have the perfect gift for all ❤️. I love shopping here. The exclusive items you’ll find only here make it worth the drive. (I live in Chicago). Everything is perfectly curated and the store is constantly changing. Make an afternoon of it….have lunch and shop till you drop. Thank you for having a gorgeous shop.”
“I had a great experience here! I came here looking for jewelry to go with my graduation dress. Kendall went out of her way to style jewelry to go with my dress and shoes. She even called all around until she found a ring I needed. This was top tier service!”
“Always a fun place to shop for holiday items as well as accessories for the home, crafts, garden, and more. Plus something is always on sale for 50% discount or less.”
“A fabulous boutique shop locally owned by the sweetest couple Heidi and Scott Morrow! They have a great selection of items for the home and I always find gifts here. Its a smaller shop so it never overwhelms you but selection is very intentional. They also have a rewards program which is really nice for frequent shoppers. They own the Alley Shop around the corner and host pop ups and the most amazing Santa Experience as well. Highly recommend stopping in!”

208 W N Ave, Lombard“Jennifer and Jason patiently guided me and my wife through different barn door styles from the type of wood to the type of hardware. They had so many selections and ideals to choose from. And they also helped us design our corner fireplace shelf.Their installation staff were friendly and professional as well. They prepped our wall for the large barn door so good, you can’t tell they cut the drywall at all. When the large barn door was finally installed --- wow. It looked great. The door glides smoothly on the track when opening and closing. And my wife and I love how it fills up the empty side of the large wall when opened. Our corner fireplace shelf is great too, but it can’t compare with the look of our barn door. I’m still in awe.For those who are considering a new barn door and/or a fireplace shelf for their place, please pay a visit to the Chicago Barn Door Co.Shop local.”

7349 Lemont Rd, Downers Grove“I've been a loyal customer of this store for three years and have always loved shopping at this location. However, my recent experience trying to return an item was incredibly disappointing. Despite my long history with the store and having clear proof of purchase, the staff treated me as if I hadn't bought the item there. It's disheartening to be treated so poorly after being a loyal patron for so long. Sadly, I won't be returning to this store after being treated in such a disrespectful manner!!!
Update I recently had an issue with a return at this store, but I'm pleased to say that the manager reached out to me personally. She was incredibly nice and professional, making me feel welcome again. She assured me that she would address the situation with her team. It's reassuring to see a commitment to improving customer experiences. I appreciate the effort and will definitely consider returning to the store in the future.”

111 Town Square, Wheaton“This chic little shop is nestled in the town center. It is well curated that once you step in your mind is instantly filled with ideas for gifts or ideas for your home. The gentlemen who assisted me was very kind, and helped me pick out the right boxes so I could have them gift wrapped. For sure made the holiday shopping experience easy. Prices are a little higher on some items to be expected but it was worth the price for the one of the kind pieces I found.”
“Izaac in the Villa Park, IL store was a pleasure to work with. He was very knowledgeable about the products he was selling and answered all of my questions. I’ll definitely work with Izaac again!”
