Had to turn around, go back and visit for a minute - if not only to jog a memory of a moment of the days when grandparents did simple but consistent things like buying the best pecan logs at Stuckeys but saying they were homemade at Christmas time.

Shout out to Jamie at Stuckey's station in Vienna Illinois! She's a gem for going out of her way to help us get back on the road after car trouble. There are Angel's among us, and she is definitely one. Thank you so much! We got home to Kansas city!

Friendly place to get gas for your car, take a restroom break in a clean place and get something to eat and drink. Nice pricing on self-serve drinks with large variety and sizes.

Fun to find a Stuckeys after all these years! This is a small express shop, licensed to use the name and carry the family products. Did I get an original pecan log? Yes I did. We also found an amazing supply of bourbons, including Pappy's at a very questionable price.

Stopped by on the way through town. I asked for Powerball and mega million tickets for 10 consecutive draws. Travis the cashier sold me the same numbers for 10 tickets. He was verbally asked for 10 consecutive draws, but sold 10 tickets with the same numbers. There was no manager on site. Travis did not know how to work the machine and when I informed him I would be filing a complaint with the Illinois Lottery board, he told me to go ahead they just got the lottery machine back after 4 years. I did file a formal complaint with the Lottery Board and I filed a complaint with Stuckey's corporate office. I am at a loss as to why this man didn't just make it right.

Stopped here with my husband on our way back home to MN and finally found an Illinois magnet! I collect magnets from each state we drive through on vacations. Very friendly staff person on duty when we stopped. Lots of cool souvenirs to buy.

Liquor shack/bar connected to a gas station which is super convenient because it's impossible to lose your car or forget to get gas for your drive home after a long day at the bar getting drunk.
