Don't buy the 1 year subscription they will try to sell you. They refused to return items in perfect condition - said there were exclusions - I asked them to show me the exclusions, they refused to even listen them. SO DISAPPOINTED!!

One of Our Favorite Stores.
We always have a great experience at REI in Vernon Hills. The staff is knowledgeable and genuinely helpful. We shop here for athletic shoes and outdoor gear, and my husband recently bought a bike the service was amazing from start to finish.
We’re also REI members, and the member deals make it even better. The store is big, easy to shop, and has a great selection you can actually see and try on.

We always have a great experience at this store. We popped in today to get some stuff for an upcoming camping trip and it was busy. Despite being busy the staff were super friendly and very helpful with gear questions that we had. We now have a sweet new Kelty baby carrier that I’m really excited to do some hiking with. Thanks for the help Laura!

we were trying to get shoe but Joel that’s he’s name. He’s like I’m here but I dont wanna help you this kind of attitude usually REI customer service is the best but this person is something else everything else was good I love the store that’s for sure

They are so pushy about the membership. No means no. The sales clerks in the store are pushy. The check out lady is pushy. You can't shop in peace.
Also, how does an outdoor store not allow dogs? You sell harnesses but I can't bring my dog in to get him fitted?

Horrible customer service. Stood at the shoe section for 20 minutes waiting to be taken care of and to ask questions regarding running shoes. The two employees working looked overwhelmed and I left when one told a customer that he didn’t know anything about Blundstone boots.

Unbelievable staff treats you like a freeloading idiot. Dread coming to this location even for pickup. Attitude issues with bike staff who won't answer questions like I didn't buy all my gear from them with real money. Asked how to attach a pannier and got the biggest huff and puff whining about how busy they are. Yeah, with customers. Customers like me! I was waiting patiently. My question took thirty seconds to answer, I wasn't wasting time. Dang wish I could refund my membership what a hellhole.

Margaret is the best she helped make sure we got the deal we were looking for on the jacket my partner wanted and helped me find a good deal on light to stay safe on my bike. Also, my partner signed up for her membership thanks to Margaret! 10/10 visit

We had a very bad and humiliating customer service experience with 'Marcello' at the time of pick-up at REI Vernon Hills store 180.
Other customers were also complaining about him. He wasn't able to manage customers in line, was rude, and short-tempered.

I love this store and their products. The only thing I think they need to step up is their customer service. I feel that some people are not that friendly. This being said, nobody has been rude either.

I don't have too many in-person retail experiences any more - but this REI always delights. They actually have plenty of people working there who seem to want to help you and make your day easier.

Good products- but what a painful experience. Was looking for a cott one day- and just needed someone to tell me where in the store they were. I searched for about 15 minutes before asking the front desk. Instead of simply pointing me in the right way, they said someone in the camp section would be able to help me. I waited for another 15 minutes while I watched 2 of their older gentlemen employees “help” other customers. Seemed like they were too busy, flirting with customers to make a sale. Sunday 4/27/24 @2:30pm.
