Should probably be renamed the "Illini Union Apple Store" ? but it has everything you could possibly need for Apple products!

This is a student-run hotel on the U of I campus. The location can't be beat and has some nice add-ons for any prospective student and their parents. Rooms were immaculately clean and the all-student staff was great! Very savvy and attentive young people running this facility. I think there were perhaps only 2 non-student staff (management) and they were also great. Only complaint was plumbing in the bathroom. The hot water took a long time to run and water pressure was low unless you wanted ice-cold water (hot runs at a trickle). Also, our toilet sprung a leak. We were only there for 1 night so the leak was no big deal, and management took note of it needing repair right away. It's an old building (but very beautiful) so these things are expected to be broken sometimes in building of this age. But still a good value for the price and I enjoyed seeing some young people/students doing some great experiential learning. The rec room in the basement is nice.

I would be very skeptical of anything the mac repair people tell you.I took in a macbook pro with a display that didn't work. I thought at the very least since they charge around a $30 diagnostic fee, they could tell me what was wrong with it. When they called, they said my display was broken, and I asked if they knew what was wrong with it. They said "yeah, it doesn't work". Helpful. They quoted me for a repair that was over $1000, more than the price of the computer.I asked if they could recover the data on the drive, they quoted me some price in the hundreds (might have been as high as $200 or $300!!). If you don't know, the only thing you need for data recovery on a computer whose only problems are the battery and display is a thunderbolt cable, which I bought for $17 online. DO NOT PAY them that much to do data recovery. Unless there's some sort of wizard reconstruction or decryption going on, it is not worth that much, it's literally plugging a cable in and transferring files. When I got the computer back, it had more problems than when I took it in, as they hadn't bothered to plug the keyboard into the motherboard when they reassembled it, so I had to take it apart and do that. Then it turned out that all it needed to get the (nearly brand new) screen working was a $20 cable. They were correct the battery is messed up but with $20 worth of (admittedly laborious) repairs and the computer works fine when plugged in.I can't believe I paid them a diagnostic fee to be told something so unspecific, and I can't believe the level of price gouging in a place that's supposed to be affordable for students.Try some place else.

I want to check my pc for a potential liquid damage; everything is good until we went to there before store closing to pick up. The woman technician totally denied that she said we could have it back by the end of the day. She directly told the receptionist to refund with a bad attitude. The receptionists are welcoming but this store really needs to hire a technician with the right attitude.

0 STARS!!! Extremely slow and inefficient service. It took them 1.5 months to order a part for my Macbook. On top of that, it didn’t even fix my laptop. Why would you not keep SPARE PARTS to test something??? And then they charged me $30 for “diagnostics” and labor? Why?? They clearly failed in diagnosing the issue. Horrible experience, NEVER coming back!

Went to techzone to repair water damage on my macbook a couple years ago. I was quoted $75 but the laptop was working, so I happily paid. Fast forward to today, I turned in the same macbook to a certified apple store for a separate small problem. They told me the minor problem is due to water damage, and now I am quoted $300 (would be 1K if no applecare) for water damage. Long story short, the techzone did NOT properly fix my water damage, yet charged me $75 still. My two cents is to ask Apple to properly fix

The location is the best reason to stay here, if you are visiting UIUC. It can be loud if there are events occurring on or near the Union building, but it's nice to be so centrally located. Yes, the rooms are small and a bit antiquated, but they are comfortable and clean.

Can't get a better location on campus! Rooms are small, bathrooms need updating, but it was very clean. I know this is staffed with college students, so I will give them a pass, but management is inept. They need to train their staff better and make sure everyone conveys the same information. Ask 2 people - get 2 different reponses on their polices, etc.

I remember playing pool with a friend in the Billiards area. Great fun. This was during the 1970s. It is good to see that the Billiards area is still around. Here is an update to the Illini Union Billiard Room: Copy and Paste to a computer the above links one tab at a time.

Stayed here while visiting campus on a college tour and really enjoyed it, the rooms are clean and roomy enough and we had a view of the quad. It’s nice if you want that college feel. And some of the union has been renovated but some hasn’t but alumni will enjoy the mix.
