My husband, a University of Illinois alum, and I were in Champaign-Urbana for a wedding, and he wanted to show me around the University of Illinois campus. The first place that he insisted on stopping at was the Illini Union. When we visited, this was a hub of activity. Illini Fest was going on this weekend. We went to the basement, which was home to several restaurants, a recreation center featuring a bowling alley, and a live band playing music. I really enjoyed seeing his old stomping grounds. If you're on the University of Illinois campus, I recommend going to the Illini Union.

Convenient location but the posted prices are simply not accurate - while I can’t speak for all products, there is a markup of at least $.50 before tax for multiple beverages when you are rung up at the cash register. This is above the already higher than average prices for many products, but you are paying for the convenience of not having to leave campus. There are some items which you can get a great deal on, such as a display of marked-down lunch items you can sometimes get for $1.

This place is old and decrepit. Maybe half of the outlets work if you can even find one. Food Is very expensive so they can take advantage of students and guest's who have no other choice. Avoid here, go to the Champaign Library for your study/computer needs. What an old dump!

It’s alright in a pinch. I wouldn’t buy merchandise from here, go to the bookstore or gameday. A quick snack or drink can be bought here, but there will be a decent mark up

The Illini Union has a lot to offer. The single bathrooms near the colonial room will forever remain my favorite on campus. The automated seat cleaner/covering makes me feel like I'm in star trek every time I take a p***

I remember playing pool with a friend in the Billiards area. Great fun. This was during the 1970s. It is good to see that the Billiards area is still around. Here is an update to the Illini Union Billiard Room: Copy and Paste to a computer the above links one tab at a time.

Saw an amazing charity performance by the Penny Dreadful Players and others on the 3rd floor of the beautiful Illini Union. Such a great space and opportunity for our children. Thanks U of I!

The days of U of I, are some of the best days of my life. The main spot on campus was the Union, plenty restaurants and entertainment inside. Also the hotel is there for visitors. I really miss Champaign-Urbana!!

My one-stop-shop for a place to study, eat, relax, and hang out with friends! I love going to the Illini Union when I have downtime in between classes. There's always something going on and there are lots of fun events to go to when you're looking for something different to do.
