“Review written 9/29/2024. It’s very disappointing how they removed most regular check out lanes and now only have self check out and one remaining regular one. Part of the Aldi experience used to be their speedy check out process. It’s sad that they don’t want to hire enough staff and that they now make customers slowly ring up items at self check out without being able to use the belt and scan quickly in regular checkout. :(
You need to bring a quarter for the carts like a typical Aldi. And you need to bring your own bags or buy them at the store.
Overall, Aldi is much better priced than just about any grocery store you can find.
This location seems to be out of some items a lot though.
But still, I highly recommend Aldi; it has some delicious food and better prices than most stores. I’d recommend the Savoy Aldi location over this one though.”
“Thus store has almost everything if you're looking to cook authentic Mexican food. We went for piloncillo and found it without much hassle in their spices section. They also have a lot of drinks and snacks. I haven't tried their butcher products but looks high quality.”
“Pretty solid grocery store. The prices are okay, probably similar to Meijer. If you've ever been to a jewel osco, this is very similar. The parking lot is big, but I rarely ever see this place full even in the weekends. They have a good selection of items, but the produce can be pricy.”
“This location used to be a County Market years ago. Now it’s a partial grocery store and partial resale store. A lot of people like this store but I’m confused why some of the groceries are so expensive here when it’s supposed to be like a safe haven for people experiencing poverty.
Yes prices are rising everywhere nowadays but check out the prices on the photos I posted here. Over $9 for some peppers? ?
Not the store’s fault but people steal carts from this store often (see photo)
But thank you to Salt and Light for being a place with food in this region of Urbana that is considered a “food desert””
“Great place to work ! Family Atmosphere great way to learn some skills of driving and delivery. Very helpful staff and great management. Shout out Randy and Justin ! Salute to all the drivers !”
“Sells halal chicken, halal ground beef, halal lamb, and lots of Veggie burger and Veggie chicken options. I also like to get morning star plant-based items here. It's clean and consistent. Sometimes hard to find stuff using their app. Prices are higher here in general than other grocery stores in the area. They are quick to bag and load your items back into your cart for you so that's really nice. In general, there are items here you can't find in-store other places.”
“To anyone seeking new things to cook or someone who loves African food, this is the place. I love supporting small business so I like this place. The owner is very kind.”
“I always go here and the store looks clean and organized. I miss the old days when the workers would greet you when you come in the store. The freezer selection is pretty good and I like getting all my snacks here.”

“I had a live unload 0800 and it was done pretty quick, but I had to wait in truck until I had green light to pull out and get paperwork. It was until 0945 that paperwork was finally ready for pickup. Guard told me that unloaders start around 0300 ind that I can check in when they get here. And there is no overnight parking.”
“Ahhhh. Walmart. Walmart has everything you will ever need and alot more. The one in Champaign is awesome the Urbana one I had this Asian dude stalk me. He was everywhere that I went. Maybe it was a secret shopper and I looked suspicious. He wasted a half hour following me around while some soccer mom stole half the store.”
“Review written 02/07/2025. (I am one of the owners of this co-op along with likely thousands of others). Very unique and interesting place. Removing one star because the prices are unaffordable for most people. But it’s a very welcoming environment with great food products.
They also have cooking classes and other cool events.”
