This gym is awesome! I have been a member since 2018. The coaches are fantastic, always great music and atmosphere and they push you to do your best. I have never belonged to a gym of women of more shapes, sizes, and ages. That is what I love about it! It is so encouraging

I recommend CU Women’s Boxing because my health and my mental state is important to me and this class helps me in all areas it gives me the charge I need for my every day wellness. It helps me to remain disciplined to the promises I have made to myself “never to give up and remain consistent”.

I moved to Illinois last winter and joined the boxing gym in order to finally cross it off my bucket list. The coaches are great, Jess knows everyone's name (even after a 5 month hiatus, she remembered who I was) and she is a great communicator and encourager. The class is tough but fun- a great cardio experience and learning the basics of boxing.

I am still fairly new to the boxing world but have felt very welcome since day 1. Everyone from trainers to members are friendly and it’s quite possibly the best workout I’ve ever encountered. I always leave feeling inspired, empowered and like I had a great time.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the coaches were incredibly helpful at helping me improve my punches and stance. While I do feel that this is an amazing place, I was hoping for a bit more focus on boxing techniques, and strategies but it seems like a lot of the classes seems more cardio-focused rather than focusing on boxing as a sport.

An incredible workout and atmosphere! I leave feeling confident every time. Plus I have been covering up my arms for YEARS and in one month I'm wearing sleeveless likes it's the only thing in my closet. Not only because the workouts have toned up my arms (because they super have) but I'm proud of their strength now not ashamed of their imperfections!

Absolutely love it here. I went to an intro session mid-April and bought a membership right away. This is my third full week of working out and I already feel AMAZING! Jessie has created an envirornment where you are challenged and pushing yourself but can go at your own pace and never feel judge. And where do I even get started on the woman empowerment you feel at this place. HIGHLY recommended for anyone looking to try something new, get in a good workout and learn a new skill!

Just moved to Illinois a few weeks ago and thought i would give this place a try during my quest to find a new striking gym. Overall this place is great for beginner women looking to get into shape without the masculine environment surronding other gyms. I'm only guessing that is why it is women only?? The owner is super nice and knowledgeable and takes time explaining the moves. Some reasons as to why I didn't give them more stars would be the overall bang for the money and lack of training equipment. Nearly $90 a month for 2 people, some times 3, to a bag is a little much in my opinion. I'm not a big fan of long breaks in between combos. Maybe the new space will be bigger, but for now, i can't justify the spend.

Jessie is absolutely fantastic. I came in with no knowledge of boxing, and she taught me to love the sport.

I joined this boxing gym in 2016. You need to take an intro class before you can become a member (times are listed on the website). It's not open all the time outside of class times, but once you're a member there are sometimes "open gym" days. A fun and empowering experience! I highly recommend it if you're a woman in CU.
