We stored all of our household goods with American Way awhile back while I went through a military PCS. Originally they were really nice and easy to work with, but then it changed. When meeting with my movers to have them survey my belongings, I discovered a lock had been changed on my large unit. I inquired with the owners and it was then I was informed TWO weeks prior units had been broken into and my large unit was included. They tried reassuring me as I was angry just finding out this that my unit didn't appear to be deshelved so they didn't think anything was stolen. They claimed they called me once but I never had a single missed call or voicemail from them. Their excuse for not trying again was because they thought I had already moved away. Upon investigation, I found out my two TVs were stolen and as soon as I mentioned this, the owners wife just simply walked away. I spoke with her, making a comment that it's silly that someone would break into units when they clearly have cameras & 24 hour surveillance signs posted throughout the property. She acknowledged. Later that day when making a police report, the owner confessed that there was no video footage because the cameras were down & being repaired in the next few days. When taking my property out, about 2 weeks later, the cameras were STILL “down†Do not recommend them. How are you not going to notify your tenants their unit had been broken into?! Sounds very suspicious to us.... Save your money and take it somewhere else that has a fence and/or cameras that exist and work.
