With the interest rates being as high as they are now, you'd think they would bring down their high prices non negotiating any price features. Better to shop on line with the car folks and the other car company that wil birng the car to you as well.

I would give Carmax a "0" if I could.My son purchased a vehicle from Tinley park location a week later the water pump went out.They took the car in for service and gave him a loaner .Few days later the loaner broke down .He missed work took the loaner back to the Tinley location and 3 weeks later Tinley park police pulled up to my son in the loaner guns drawn saying it was reported stolen .My son was already dealing with buying a car and 3 weeks already them still having the car he purchased he even made a car payment on the car as long as they had it.The next morning he went to there Hillside carmax to tell them what just happened Jose the service Manager blamed it on the TinleyPark location for reporting the plates stolen it was a mistake and they finally had his car ready .Now calling the TinleyPark location to tell them what happened about the plates being reported stolen they blamed it on the hillside location. CARMAX IS A FRAUD THERE cars aren't anything better than a corner cardealership but they charge 3x the value of the vehicle. IF you try to make a complaint uou will find out Carmax is a auction dealing auto dealer with in house car mechanics that's all !!Be ware run from carmax I've just reported what happened to me and carmax hasn't gotten back to even care .Worst customer service seriously there managers put off the blame so there no responsible for any errors. Carmax needs to be reported to better business bureau and attorney general office for deceptive business practices google Carmax and see the 1000s of reviews Dont buy from CarMax buyer beware

If I could give above 5 stars, I would! I went in with the intention of just browsing to see what I liked, and ended up finding a car that is perfect for me. I had help from the wonderful Emily Smith. She was very honest and open about asking what I had in mind/what I wanted in my car and leading me in a direction that had everything I wanted. She was very patient, kind, helpful, and made me very comfortable. She didn't try to persuade me or push me in a certain direction, rather the opposite of making sure she did everything in her power to make me happy and find what I was looking for. I had such a fantastic experience here and would absolutely recommend CarMax to anyone (ask for Emily Smith she will find you your car!!)

We sold our vehicle to CarMax. We received an online offer that was higher than all the others. We downloaded our documents and when we arrived at CarMax it took 16 minutes to finalize the deal and leave with a check. The staff was very professional and friendly and the business itself is extremely clean. They obviously know what they are doing and treat the customer well.

I did the car max online offer to sell my van. They gave me a very good price compared to the dealership where I was going to buy another vehicle. $900 more then the dealership. When I got there, all I had to do was "check in" on this website, sat down, a worker drove around my van for a few mins and about 20 minutes later the offer was made and it was the same offer that I was given on the website. 0 complaints....Highly recommend going to car max if you're selling a vehicle. The average dealership will low ball the hell out of u.....

I'm a serious Senior. I give CarMax a Two reluctantly as their Customer Service is failing and trying to purchase a Safe reliable used car is nearly impossible. I tried 3 times. The last car was just as bad as the first and second. They decided to fix some things on the third to get it to sale so they wouldn't have to return my down payment. Lastly CarMax FORGOT to return my warranty down payment money on one of the cars...I don't like reminding people about what they rightfully owe me. After several attempts to get my refund they are refunding it much later than expected. Never again Dude! Go anywhere else but there if at all possible! I wished I had.

The service department at this CarMax location is horrible you have to call at least 10 times before someone answers the phone! But whenever you go in there's a line of employees sitting behind the desk not sure how none of them are able to pick up the phone! They tell lies on when you should expect your vehicle back as well so don't even bother to ask!

UPDATE: Got real tow hitch and electrical harness installed. Got Honda-requisite-for-towing transmission cooler installed. Around $2000. As expected (after the "tow hitch" turned out to be a receiver for loads.) BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE ....... Turns out spark plugs and timing belt are overdue for replacement. Around another $2000. See previous update. Apparently --per Wisconsin state laws governing used vehicles -- this would not have happened in Wisconsin. Purchase your used vehicle IN WISCONSIN, not in Illinois.
