“Went in to get ribbons made for my daughters baptism. The owner is incredibly nice and takes account for you personally and what you are looking for. She made everything by hand and it turned out beautifully, she even gave us a gift from the monastery for the baby. She made sure everything was beautiful. Even with the baptism a week and a half away when I ordered everything, it was done amazingly and on the date she promised. Everything was wonderful and I highly recommend her and the store. I even got the godparents gift from the store. If you have needs for wedding, baptism, gifts, etc. go to this store.”

“I cannot recommend Van Der Velde Couture Showroom enough!! I found the dress of my dreams there!! They have the most beautiful wedding dresses and Colette is the kindest person ever! I never felt judged or even pressured into picking a dress. She even made sure that every dress I did try on was within my budget! After I found my dream dress, it needed some alterations and the lady that did them was amazing! They never tried to up the prices when I was getting alterations. It was the same price that she told me it would be when I first started them! They are the best here and I cannot recommend them enough!”

“Sheila, the owner, is a miracle worker. I wanted to purchase a tuxedo to wear on a cruise and for future events. I waited too long and thought I was out of luck. My GF discovered this place. I called and Sheila was very reassuring. I went in and it was about 10 days before my trip with the 4th of July holiday intervening. The perfect set up for can't do. But Sheila is can do. She measured me and then consulted with my GF, the fashionista of my relationship. Then she called the warehouse. The warehouse person was kind of can't do. Sheila patiently worked with her and got things done. Betsy, the seamstress, is equally can do. Once my items arrived she was willing to work to get the alterations done in a timely manner for me. I'm sure there were other clients with weddings and stuff to wait on too. But I was given attentive, kind service that made me feel welcome in what could be an intimidating setting for someone like me who is not a clothes horse. Thank you Sheila and Betsy for creating a miracle through can do attitude.”

“I purchased my daughters prom dress from Pay less Bridal in Oak Lawn and the service was great. They have a wide selection of beautiful dresses for all shapes and sizes. I was able to put the dress on lay-a-way and they also provided a reasonable seamstress for alterations. “after going to 5 different boutiques in the city and the suburbs i stumbled on eva’s because i was interested in a specific eve lender wedding gown. when i went inside i didn’t know what to expect - at this point i was frustrated with my shopping experience and felt like no one was really listening to what i wanted to wear. Our consultant Pat played a huge part in the reason why i loved eva’s she made me feel so comfortable and instantly i felt like we were family. i felt comfortable being open with what i liked and didn’t and she was so patient. also the store manager, i can’t remember her name right but she was also completely amazing! they had the designer i wanted and i tried on about 5 dresses before settling on two i loved. i came back the next day and tried both on and started crying the moment i put the dress on and just knew it was the one. they were amazing. customer service went above and beyond.thank you again!!”

“House of brides was the third and final bridal shop I visited, the other shops selection had me worried I was going to have to settle for a dress I didn’t love.I was paired with Christine who wasprofessional, respectful and so considerate throughout the entire process. She was aware of my needs as a bride and offered lots of insightful guidance. There was no pressure or personal opinions. It was about what I wanted. The selection was much bigger than what I had experienced elsewhere and that was lovely because you want to see a lot of dresses to make sure you’re not missing out on what could be the one! I went there with a certain dress in mind but while browsing I found one that I fell in love with that looked nothing like what I had expected to pick. I was able to stay within my budget and that’s including the alterations to the gown and accessories. I would hands-down recommend this bridal shop. Christine‘s measurements were so well taken that when the dress arrived, it fit like a glove! However, Ruth was my seamstress and she put in the bussel and a few minor adjustments to ensure it laid perfectly.Thank you Christine, Ruth and house of brides!
